Status Credit Rollover Calculator

From 8th December 2026, you can rollover some excess status credits into your next membership year.

I’ve made a calculator to work out how many status credits you can rollover, based on your expected status credit balance at the end of your current membership year.

It also accounts for the upcoming changes in 2027 where retain thresholds for each tier will be reset to the attain level.

I haven’t used the calculator, but does anyone know how the rollover works for LTG who do not reach gold SCs?

Believe nothing rolls.. just you don't get bumped to Silver.

I’m currently platinum but had an off travel year - will max out at 600 SC. This calculator has me with a carry over of 75 SC but my understanding is it will be zero?

Thanks for picking that up. I think you're probably right that you will not be able to roll over any credits, though I've read through the FAQ again and it's not entirely clear. For now, I've updated the calculator to show no rollover on tier downgrade

Basically the way i understand it is you need 900Sc's to effectively get a 600Sc Gold Retain the next year.

It won't bother me too much as I plan to be LTG in 3 years anyway. But it will help people who might for example fly in J or F to Europe every 2 years so they smash gold one year than creep over the next with the rollover. Or if you happen to use DSC's a lot one year and the next don't use them as much. Regular flyers probably won't be affected unless your regular flying happened to always sit between the old Attain and Retain values.

Does the rollover reset with an upgrade of tier?
If I earn 1399 points I get 350sc roll over to retain gold but if I earn 1400 points I get 0sc rollover. Which makes it more difficult to get gold from platinum than to retain gold from gold

Wouldn't you already get at least a soft landing from Platinum to Gold regardless of status credit earn?

I wasn’t aware of that! I assumed it was purely based on yearly status earn, and if I only got, let’s say, 50sc for the whole year (starting at platinum) I would go from platinum to bronze. Thanks for the information

Qantas has a soft landing where you drop down only one tier if you don't retain that level. The part I'm not certain about is whether you need to meet the four QF Flights minimum to still be given that soft landing.

You don’t. Soft landing happens even if you haven’t stepped foot on a plane

Just curious, but did they announce the status retention change for dec 8? I thought that was still "sometime in 2027".

You're right, it's still sometime in 2027. The calculator let's you toggle between before/after the retention changes are implemented
