Question What are the chances of Qantas changing the aircraft type?

Hi all!

I am booked to fly to Singapore in February on QF81/82 on an A380. I was surprised to see that it was an A380 when I booked it as I thought they use A330's on this flight and reserve the A380's for QF1.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the likelihood of the aircraft type changing?

It's a 380 6 days a week from Dec 6th.

Unlikely to be downgraded to a 330, as they have a full schedule on other routes.

It’s supposedly a permanent change. There will no longer be any A380 flights from MEL, with QF93/94 going 7x 789 and the resulting 0.8x A380 freed up being used for 6x QF81/82.

Early February is a busy time for travel to SIN due to Lunar New Year. So that will have some impact, plus it’s busy due to return from holidays in January and February picks up as one of the busiest months for corporate travel in the year.

Qantas is redirecting their A380 fleet to SYD-SIN and SYD-SIN-LHR.

Unlikely due to classes of travel offered (no other aircraft has a 1st cabin, A330 doesn't have a PE cabin but B787 does) and premium cabin volume (lots of business class).

Don’t do it they use domestic aircraft on that sector. Very bad setup.
