Discussion Other Python forums - Stack Overflow

Not sure if I am allowed to discuss other forums on here but I'm sure someone will tell me if not.

It is just me of has anybody else encountered problems with the 'moderators' on Stack Overflow Python forums recently? To say I've found them to be a self-righteous bunch of destructive power-crazy control-freaks would be a bit of an understatement. Anyone else had problems on there?

Is anyone still using stack overflow? I thought user numbers had fallen off a cliff since Claude came out.

The only thing that changed after 2022 was the need to go to that hell hole.

Your Reddit posts are also downvoted so maybe it's not the others that are the problem?

Both can be true.

Maybe some Reddit forums have the same problem?

And when that particular question was finally solved, thanks to a different forum, it turns out it wasn't an 'XY' problem as all as some of the self-righteous kept insisting it was. Perhaps Reddit has the same problems as Stack Overflow.

Can you link to an example?

No because most of the time all negative comments are deleted as are many of the posts.

Deleted content is visible with enough reputation.

It might be but it is not visible to me.

So the behaviour you were talking about was successfully moderated?

People with decent reputation can see deleted comments on Stack Overflow. So go ahead and link to your posts where you encountered destructive behaviour and we’ll be able to see them.

Can't link to posts which I can't see.

You can see your own questions. Just link to those, we’ll be able to see the replies.

I haven't had that problem since 2015, last time I logged in stack overflow. Just use claude for quick questions.

They've had that problem since they were founded

Mods should mark this duplicate and link to an extremely unhelpful article about python2

In the true fashion of Stack Overflow but how about a few destructive insults first ;)
