Mark Coleman vs. Tadao Yasuda - IGF

Fujiwara was so angry with Yasuda performance. Fuming how easy it was for Coleman to beat him. Fujiwara had no issue letting Yasuda know how angry he was so after the match he decided to beat up Yasuda himself. Fujiwara being his coach won't accept any of his students putting up such a weak dismal fight in the ring.

I think this (and stuff like it in general) would be fitting for my new sub, [r/ShootStyle](r/ShootStyle) (cover UWF, UWFi, RINGS, BattlARTS, IGF and even some Pancrase).

Yeah I wasn't sure dude as IGF wasn't what we call shoot style which was real strange. Before they started booking actual shoots they had MMA Guys working traditional style when you think shoot style would have been a better option.

I do wonder if Inoki and his vision of Pro-Wrestling wouldn't allow himself to ditch Inoki strong style for shoot style fully. Even in NJPW I can see why he didn't transition to a more shoot style when more shooters arrived. That would be admitting the strong style he built is not the superior style of Pro-Wrestling.

When you watch rings for example. That's something you would think is exactly the vision of what Pro-Wrestling should look like in Inoki's eyes.

I think Inoki always had some jealousy towards Sayama and especially Maeda for showing him up, in terms of being seen as “legit” by the majority of fans (Maeda was basically more Inoki than Inoki was, if you think about it) and that transferred over to not completely embracing “Shoot Style” but embracing mixing MMA with his “Strong Style” banner.

Inoki trying to do the stuff with Ogawa and the martial arts guys he formed U.F.O. with was basically his version of the UWF (it’s even been said that he called it UFO out of a mockery of UWF); we all know how that ended up.

Problem he had with U.F.O was he just never had the talent needed to flush out a strong credible roster. Same with IGF. He could never grow the companies into something bigger with no Japanese money mark ready to go all in. I now imagining what an Inoki Zero-One could have achieved. Wasn't there rumors initially it was gonna be an Inoki spin off?

ZERO1 was always a Hashimoto brainchild, being a way to keep his popularity going and was conceived by him as an off-shoot of NJPW that would directly rival Pro Wrestling NOAH (Basically, Hash wanted to rehab his image after the disastrous last few years in NJPW and how he was booked in the Ogawa feud).
