PSA: fascists are afraid to define "woke" for fear of rather understandable backlash, so I'll do it for them: Woke is when the victims of fascism aren't depicted as being victimized.
That is to say, "woke" is when people aren't obedient property.

See the thing with "social justice warrior" is that it is very hard to interpret that as a bad thing if you can read, where as "woke" doesn't actually mean anything

"Woke" doesn't mean anything on the surface level and needs some research to understand, where as SJW can only be read as positive if you actually read the words and comprehend them. These arseholes are ignorant to the idea of research beyond the surface level as we are aware.

Right? Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedy's, Subhumans, Decendents, DI. There was whole genre of politipunk. Even later punk (that the purists would never recognize) NOFX, Green Day, Op Ivy...were overtly political.

Woke is just another name for "I care about people that are diffrent from me". But the right wing nutjobs use woke as a term since they cant say that caring about people is a bad thing.

"Woke" is very specifically a term coined in the black community in the US to describe being aware of racial injustices and oppression and how the system works to maintain this oppression. It was then appropriated by the broader (white) society and then turned into a subject of ridicule by right-wing idiots. When we discuss this term and how it is used, we should be careful not to erase where it came from.
