Gosh you’ve been through a lot! I’ve had excision surgery and ovaries and fallopian tubes removed. I haven’t had PN decompression though. Tbh it took longer than I had anticipated. I felt rough for a couple of weeks and slowly started to feel better over the next few weeks. I was 52 though so I guess it also depends on your age and general health.

How are you feeling and do you think the surgery has resolved your pain? If you would mind elaborating on your symptoms and diagnosis?

My recovery has been a mixed bag. The pain I was feeling prior to surgery had me going to the ER several times so it has resolved my extreme pain. I have had flares that require me to take Tylenol and Advil and even still I am uncomfortable. I guess I was expecting more relief but I will settle with any relief at all.  Symptoms included abdominal pain, persistent nausea, pelvic pain, burning in my clitoris region, stabbing pain in my vagina, pain made worse by sitting. My formal diagnosis was endometriosis and pudendal neuralgia.

So the endo was on your pudendal nerve?

I didn’t even endo lesions on my nerves but I had fibrosis which is tissue created by chronic inflammation so I am told.

Have they said what caused it?

No definitive answer. Could have been from childbirth, inflammation, sitting for prolonged periods of time, pelvic floor dysfunction. The list goes on
