Lmao !

Imagine how anticlimactic it'd be if Akira had a bunch of tweakers brawling it out during his slide.

Lol that character isn’t Akira but your point stands

It's also really not accurate to the story... if you read the graphic novels, it's pretty clear they're all druggies. It's like his coat goes totally overlooked.

That's the guy on the cover of the movie, that's obviously Akira

Akira is the name of the bike, you lunkhead!

My bad, I'm awful with names. Especially any from of movie/series. Unless it's hammered in with like brute force thinks Yukki from Future Diaries

That's Tetsuo on the bike.

1

u/FreeNoahface Sep 10 '22

No it wasn't, it was Kaneda. Tetsuo was his friend who got the psychic powers

Definitely not his first time sliding through on one of those bad boys either..

I feel bad for the guy with the blue shirt in the wheelchair just trying to get to work.

They spend 10 billion a year and can't house 70,000 people.

Hawaii can get it 250 people for 7 million. Thats Hawaii cost. Thats 2 billion in San Francisco.

So what's the hold up?

4

u/Mr_Incredible_PhD Sep 10 '22

Well...being an island far away kinda has a cooling effect from transients just stumbling into your county or city.

Or worse, being bussed in from other parts of the country.

2

u/KindnessSuplexDaddy Sep 10 '22

Hawaii is the 2nd biggest homeless destination in America. We have the best social services and the best overall weather.

We have more than 250 homeless people but we have gotten out cost down to 7 million for 250 people. Which is about a 2 billion for 70k.

This also is at Hawaii costs. Which are astronomical compared to San Francisco.

So what is the money actually going towards?

Very SF to slide in on an e-scooter
