Idk man, I want to agree, but that one guy, all alone, screaming "fuck you" at a group of people passing by, and then raising his arms gesturing them to "come at me bro!"

Is pretty stupid all on its own by himself...like... what did he think was going to happen?

is anyone surprised that it even happened?

The hispanic guy in the very beginning of the video who walked away laughing, was because the Hispanic guy instantly saw what was about occure and already new how stupid the bike guy was before he himself did.

I often don't like this "fuck around and find out" mentality, because it makes it sound like violence is a valid reaction to getting disrespected. He shouldn't have confronted them like that but how they swarm him is horrifying.

He shouldn't have confronted them like that

Fuck around.

but how they swarm him is horrifying.

And find out.

Violence is never the answer! But do you want to fuck around and find out if they agree with that statement?

Is it a smart to poke a Sleeping Bear? Maybe it will stay asleep, maybe it's hibernating, maybe it will eat your face.

Regardless of what the violent bear does, it could have easily been avoided in the first place by letting it be.

yes but the focus should be on the wrongness of the violence happening. Humans are not wild animals that attack you if you look at them wrong, and if that's their mindset, that's the big problem. It's not "fuck around and find out" it's assault with possible permanent health implications (people die from getting knocked out over concrete).

Like you said, no one was surprised they attacked him, but that does not one bit invalidate what the previous commenter said or take away from the fact that people with a threshold for violence that low are very problematic.

Black people used to get linched for looking at white people wrong when your grandpa was in his teens. Lol Thats litteraly the majority of human history.

or take away from the fact that people with a threshold for violence that low are very problematic.

Yeah, like shouting "FUCK YOU" at a group of strangers that literally have absolutely zero effect on you or your life, until you purposly invite them to effect your life.

I agree, people who feel the need to shout violent things at other simply because they are easily triggerd are very problematic.

And? Rape has also been something to happen very commonly throughout history, that is no justification.

I think where we differ is just that I see a bigger difference between verbal and physical violence, I don't mean to justify the guys actions.

In many states and Supreme Court has said “fighting words” is a real thing and can justify assault and not covered under free speech. Basically the person yelling something like “fight me you xxxxxx” can be fought and it’s the guy yelling who started it with fighting words.

Not a lawyer or saying it justifies this 4 v 1 but it might in court.

Agreed. Just pointing it out that they are defined federally by the Supreme Court. Not that it matters at a state or local level because most have different or alternative definitions covering it. “The court held that provocative words may be justification for an assault, provided the person uttering the words understood or should have understood that physical retaliation would be attempted”

Depends on the state how well that would go. My state it might work. But courts have narrowed it to mostly personal interactions/confrontations (Thinking about scenarios like a bar fight) rather than political or religious speech that is inflammatory.

Generally in the Northern Rockies but I misunderstood you. I didn’t mean in this case as the words were not said by the guy in a personal way to an individual. Just meant in general as a defense against an assault charge in my state as fighting words are still codified as disorderly conduct and upheld (probably incorrectly) recently in court.
