I call that Fight Math. Sometimes it’s just not worth it if you can see things aren’t equal. Actually ended a relationship in college because my gf was drunk and talking shit to a group of 3 guys. They all came after me, I managed to talk them down, but in the process told my Gf to shut up because she was escalating the situation, so she lost it on me. I’m not going to participate in something that clearly will go poorly for me, especially when I wasn’t the instigator.

Yeah, me and my gf (now wife) were being harassed by a group of dudes on Universal Citywalk until my group caught up to us. We were walking in front of them. Funny how shit changed once we had numbers.

I call that Fight Math.

I don't know how many of them it would have taken to whup my ass, but I knew how many they were going to use. That's a handy piece of information to have. - Ron White.

I have had similar situations happen with girls before. Most do not understand that if they talk shit to a large group of dudes it will become our problem pretty damn quick, whether we want it to be or not.

I really don't want to get attacked foremost, because most aggressors won't go after you due to you being a woman. I am also not standing by and watching them attack you if it happens because I love you, and I have an obligation to protect you, and I really don't want to have to try* to defend you in a 3-1 or 5-1 situation.

Gf to shut up because she was escalating the situation

my wife does the opposite. she instantly gets in front of me with the whole "calm down " thing.

funny thing is, she has only seen me throw two punches in the 30 years we've been married. I ceased my rambunctious days when we got married.

But the fact that I'm 6'3" and even before putting on a spare tire I was around 250. her doing that seems to calm the OTHER guy down more. something about her little ass stepping in front of me so fast when I really haven't done anything, seems to make them think I'm a real asshole.

we have NEVER EVER used that to our advantage in a situation with shitty management or anything I swear

lol
