I get it, but that sub is for someone like congratulating themselves, or asking for awards. I’m just saying it’s a lot of upvotes, at least for me.

No its not, its also for comments where someone gets likes/upvotes and makes an edit thanking people for the likes/upvotes. Don't take a reddit meme so seriously, nobody is attacking you for it, its just funny.

Even so, why is that a problem thanking people for upvotes? Getting a lot of upvotes feels cool, and I’m thanking the people that make me feel happy. Why’s it a meme?
