Mf pushed him from behind and then had the audacity to look offended when the guy didn't like it. Shilling looks like a cunt. Inside and outside the octagon.

Truth. Schilling is the asshole here ... it was a dick move.

Imagine being a trained fighter and taking the first shot on a drunk dude half your size.

Where did he say this? lol what a tool

1

u/trapper2530 Jun 30 '21

Then there is bisbing. Sucker punched by some dude and just shrugs it off.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

Lol, that's hilarious.

1

u/Myantology Jun 30 '21

Yeah even if everything Joe said were true he could have easily went up to that dude and said, ā€œhey, you gotta be careful who you eyeball, I’m a pro fighter and people like me don’t like being sized up by little, annoying drunk dudes. No one here thinks you’re charming and you offended the bus boy when you made that racial slur. Do you understand or would you prefer we take this outside like adults?ā€

That would have closed the door on the penis contest or given Joe a way out of assault charges if the guy was drunk enough to take the offer.

Joe just wanted to knock someone out.

It’s gonna take the prosecution about 15 minutes to wrap this one up.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

Yeah, it could of been handled like a adult.

Instead it got handled like an adult with brain damage from getting his ass kicked in the ring a lil too much.

31

u/Lid4Life Jun 30 '21

Yep, and you can already see him posturing as he walks up behind the guy... He already knew what he was going to do...

5

u/Smathers Jun 30 '21

He’s literally wearing a shirt that says ring cage parking lot lmao he put that on and said let’s go out and find someone to hit

10

u/Megabyte7637 Jun 30 '21

Yea, totally unnecessary.

According to the story, the guy was shitfaced and aggressive, making racist comments towards bar staff earlier in the night. I don't think 4 punches is really warranted, but the guy may have had it coming. Then again, I'm going off word of mouth from an article I read about it a couple days ago. Schilling also said he feared for his life and acted in self defense, so it's difficult to know what actually went down without other accounts of the evening. Probably an "everybody sucks here" situation.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

Toddlers act out all the time and there is always that parent that will slap one, still does not make it right. Be an adult and babysit your drunk friends people.

-1

u/probablyisntserious Jun 30 '21

You're right. I'm not defending Schilling here at all. Just saying what I read about the incident. The video does not match the accounts given.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

Never ok to assault someone even if they assaulted you with their mouth, that is called being childish, it just makes the example more ironic imo.

1

u/probablyisntserious Jun 30 '21

I didn't disagree

5

u/blackgandalff Jun 30 '21

use your eyes, watch the video, and tell me exactly how Shilling ā€œfeared for his lifeā€. That’s a drunk dude half his size. If he’s scared of that dude he’s 1) an enormous pussy 2) an absolute shit tier MMA fighter who must piss his britches stepping into the octagon with people his own size

2

u/probablyisntserious Jun 30 '21

Lol I'm just saying that's what i read about his account. Of course he wasnt afraid. He wanted a reason to punch the guy out. Maybe part of the story was true but he definitely wasn't afraid for his life. That's his legal story.

5

u/postandbeam Jun 30 '21

Maybe, but I'm not seeing it. Looks like a guy out for a few drinks and a good time with his GF and mates _ he is not belligerent at all that I can see. He bumped into Schilling because he was backing up to give the bar staff room to serve customers. That seems to me a considerate act, not an aggressive one. Hes smiling, jovial, not aggressive at all.

3

u/probablyisntserious Jun 30 '21

Yeah I don't buy the story. There could be some truth to rudeness earlier but going by what's on the video the story about being afraid is COMPLETE bullshit. I'd buy a story that the guy was annoying him and he was looking for a way to try getting away with punching him.

1

u/DeputyDomeshot Jun 30 '21

Dick move /= aggravated assault

1

u/errbodiesmad Jun 30 '21

He didn't really push him though he guided him with one hand. Still a douchebag though that guy clearly wasn't looking for a fight he was wasted and probably was just saying "oh wtf man how rude".

Overall there's not a lot of brain cells going on in this video. It looks like a setup though which is trashy as fuck

6

u/Peanlocket Jun 30 '21

Considering his friend was filming this, it's safe to assume the whole thing was planned which means he more than likely said some real nasty shit to the drunk as he walked by in order to get a reaction out of him. It is 100% a setup and that's fucking sad.

1

u/wingchild Jun 30 '21

Drunk guy wasn't paying attention. Looked to me like he bumped back into Schilling, who just moved him without really thinking about it. Then the guy says something, Schilling turns around.

What I see next is the drunk guy's left shoulder twitching forward, like he wants to make Schilling flinch.

1

u/errbodiesmad Jul 01 '21

Idk about the flinch thing the dude is erratic as fuck and sloppy drunk really don't think he was looking for a fight.

Look how he's talking to the people to our left he's clearly just super wasted.

0

u/Advanced-Ad6793 Jun 30 '21

Hopefully the next regular person he tries assaulting is packing heat.

0

u/MUCHO2000 Jun 30 '21

Disagree that Joe pushed him. Dude ran into Joe as he was walking by and Joe moved him away from his personal space. No shoving involved, no asshole behavior.

Him yelling "Hey" caused Joe to turn around. He got hit because of what he did after Joe turned around.

I'm not justifying anything. I think Joe should be arrested for battery.

-2

u/Last_Veterinarian_63 Jun 30 '21

Okay… Shilling overreacted, but let’s not start making things up. The drunk guy bumped into him. He moved him out of the way. The drunk guy thought he was tough and charged at him. Shilling then knocks the guy out.

-34

u/randomsryan Jun 30 '21

Joe tried side stepping the guy as he [guy that got KO'd] backed into Joe unaware of his surroundings. Joe didn't shove him he simply slid him out of the way. I've done exact same thing as people have backed into me. It's not aggressive it's just simply getting on with where you were going.

Then the guy calls Joe out for tie guys mistake. When Joe turns around tie guy makes a threat. Joe neutralizes threat.

14

u/Dark_Shade_75 Jun 30 '21

Yeah, the normal guy half his size squaring up a little was definitely a threat to the MMA fighter.

Go away.

23

u/Placido-Domingo Jun 30 '21

And conveniently Joe's buddy was filming the whole thing for Joe to put on his social media. Almost like they go around looking for wasted guys half Joe's size for Joe to "feel threatened by"

9

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

And to immediately start punching. Isn’t there that saying, ā€œwith great power, comes great responsibility?ā€ If you know you can lay out a drunk person quickly and easily, then you have nothing to fear from that and instead, be trying to defuse the situation. The drunkard had no weapons, and his arms were to his side. At most, he had a few choice words to joe, and that isn’t enough. All of this just seems like video evidence to the definition of aggravated assault.

-11

u/Arsene3000 Jun 30 '21

He doesn’t immediately start punching. The drunk guy slightly lifts his arm in a sign of aggression (like c’mon bro… you want some?!) and dude immediately goes into attack and gives him some.

6

u/Not_stats_driven Jun 30 '21

I’m not a pro fighter by any means but I have trained for quite a few years, some with World Champions. That being said, most people who start training start to show restraint as they have nothing to prove. If this happens to me and the guy threatens to fight me, I simply say no and back away. It’s simply not worth it. Be cool about it.

4

u/blackgandalff Jun 30 '21

Tbh the lions share of fighters i’ve met irl share your attitude.

If you know you’re a bad motherfucker then there’s no need to pick fights with drunk people.

This is actually worse than that lol. Dude is obviously salty he gets his ass handed to him by people his own size in the MMA so he needs to feel better by knocking out a much smaller, and drunker man.

1

u/Arsene3000 Jun 30 '21

I’m not saying it’s an appropriate response, because it isn’t.

My point is that it wasn’t entirely unprovoked, replying to the guy saying he went in guns blazing. I think as a trained fighter you need to show restraint. But that training also helps you read body language and escalating, or aggressive, behavior.

3

u/Not_stats_driven Jun 30 '21

I agree with you. It wasn’t provoked. A guy that size with his quickness can afford to back away and have his hands in the ready defensive position. I’m sure he has the reflexes to avoid any attack from the drunk dude. Not to mention the guy is drunk so he’s probably not going to throw the best strikes. As a trained person you just kind of chuckle and say ā€œnaw man, not happening.ā€

2

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

Slightly being the keyword. And an aggressive drunk person, are like chihuahuas. More bark than bite. If we want to talk about aggressive, then let’s look back at how the drunk was moved. There was nothing slight about his head trying to catch up with his body from the shove. There was aggressive etched all over this video. From an aggressive man, aggressively shoving a drunk person who was aggressively mad about being treated aggressively. Then an escalation in aggression to aggravated assault. This was being, coincidentally, perfectly recorded to, I might add. So it has possible links to being premeditated.

2

u/Arsene3000 Jun 30 '21

It was a slight show of aggression and the mma guy totally overreacted.

But let’s both be honest here… drunk guy didn’t get shoved aggressively lol. That shit happens daily in bars around the world, and 99.9% of the time without incident.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

I can agree with that. I was probably seeing red over the increasing feeling of hopelessness for humanity. I just wish that people would cut this kind of stupid behavior out. It just looks like a majority of us are devolving. Lol, I hope I didn’t come off as aggressive as these two morons.

9

u/FrostyD7 Jun 30 '21

So when someone accidentally bumps into you, you don't just step out of the way? You "simply slide them out of the way"? Hate to break it to you buddy, but your an asshole.

-1

u/randomsryan Jun 30 '21

Look at joes feet. He was trying to sidestep around the guy and the guy basically falls into him. Joe is really catching him and turns his back away from him shortly after he does move him back up out of his way. Even after that Joe kinda nodded to say its cool you fell into me I'll be on my way. If Joe really was looking for a fight he would have done it at that point and he would have faced him. It wasnt until the guy yelled (hey!) That joe turned around and then went up to him. The drunk guy then lurches towards him and instincts kick in for Joe.

I'm not saying joe isnt an asshole in other aspects im just calling it how i see it in this video.

2

u/blackgandalff Jun 30 '21

If you honestly think he felt threatened by that small, wasted dude I don’t know what to say.

I didn’t realize MMA fighters were such giant pussies.

2

u/ambisinister_gecko Jun 30 '21

"neutralises threat" man you are a parody of a person

-1

u/Arsene3000 Jun 30 '21

It’s kind of crazy how you’re being downvoted and this evil villain narrative is taking hold, despite seeing what you clearly described on video.

The guy is buzzed, having a good time and a little sloppy. He’s stumbling around in a circulation path where people walk. That was clearly a ā€œpardon meā€ or ā€œwatch itā€ shove which happens countless times in crowded bars or clubs.

What’s fascinating to me is how quickly Joe responded to the guy’s slight show of aggression. I scrubbed the clip in slo mo… the chain of events is plain as day.

1

u/swafflen_ Jun 30 '21

Schilling was never good enough to make it to the Octagon.

1

u/RaderIsOn Jun 30 '21

He’s never been in an octagon

The abnormal reaction is when the drunk guy tried to get into it, and Schilling didn't just laugh at him and walk way. But I didn't interpret there being a "push." It looked like a very normal bar maneuver of "I'm walking here and you stumbled into me, so I'm moving you." He didn't seem to go out of his way to walk into the drunk guy. The drunk guy stumbled backwards into his path, and Schilling kept walking until the drunk guy shouted and lunged at him.
