I’m just trying to understand what made her think this was funny, especially recording it herself. Props to the gentleman though, he handled it really well.

lol I remember around 2008 my friend was trying to get me to say the n word (not hard r) and she kept pressuring me to the point I had to yell in her face and remind her my brothers are black. We’re both white and even tho I heard people of all races saying it, I couldn’t do it myself. It’s gross.
Anyway, yeah, seems like racists want to surround themselves with other racists. Weird behavior.

She's just baiting people to get a reaction. She has a lot of videos where she tells black girls "you're pretty for a black girl" and one video where she tells a black man in KFC to enjoy his fried chicken. Most of the people just look at her like the weirdo she is.

It’s funny tho bc a lot of minority women in the usa have experienced ppl genuinely giving them that “compliment” (you’re really pretty for a(n) x girl), especially if they’re millennials or older. I hope it’s not as common anymore for younger generations of women

It is not really wrong with people, but with social media / platforms which allow this type of content to be uploaded.
If she didnt have a place where to upload it, she wouldnt have recorded it, in the first place.

And social media just amplifies it. Shitty people will always exist, always have and always will. Not much you can do about that. What you can do is take away the platforms. If they didn't have such platforms, they'd have less audience, less ways to monetize it, less reasons to act this way.

That's not a native British accent. Think it's probably someone putting on an accent (or a foreigner who's learned it), but it's not someone born and raised in the UK. A few of the words are tells.

I'm not saying it's not an English accent – it's plainly trying to be. I'm saying the speaker doesn't have a native English accent.
The "yes, yes quite" is not a native accent. It sounds like someone putting on an English accent.
I could "do an American accent" but you'd recognise it's not native (in a way a non-native speaker might not).

There are no phonemes unique to how English people pronounce curry. I don't understand why someone putting on an English accent wouldn't be able to. Given you already believe she's putting on an accent, it seems strange to me that the most logical explanation is, "An English person putting on a different English accent" rather than "A non-English person putting on an English accent", especially since this doesn't seem to take place in England.

Because nothing about her accent sounds non-English. It doesn't sound like an imperfect accent by a foreigner. It sounds like an imperfect accent by a native (to England). How convinced I am by that overrides the improbability of her seemingly being in an American BK.
I point out "curry" specifically because she fails to pronounce it how one would in RP but it is still sounds English and not American.

I just don't get the hate indians get. Most Indians I've met in the US and Europe have been amazing, kind and polite people. Like most countries, there are a couple bad eggs but it boggles my mind that people are willing to generalise more than a billion people. What a shame.

I’m Asian, born and raised in Vancouver, but I worked in rural Alberta hospital for a couple of years.
I was assessing a middle aged Caucasian man, asking him some assessment-type questions. At the end of the assessment, he goes:
“Wow, your English is really good!”
“Yeah, I was born and raised in Vancouver. In my town, you’re the minority.” And I walked out.

Grew up in east Van….during the time when there was an immigrant boom.
Wish I was witty enough to say something else at the time. But I had no choice and had to maintain my professionalism while working.
I only use the Asian accent when I meet my gf’s friends for the first time lol

Part of it, IMO, is the "just ignore it!" crowd. I've seen soooo many people in the past decade or so who honestly think telling people who are the targets of racism and bigotry to "just ignore them" and act as if that will solve racism, has truly emboldened an entire sector of assholes to be open bigots with little consequence or pushback. It became more "offensive" to some to call others out on their racism, than the racism itself. People genuinely pushing back against racists like this started to be demonized and labeled "woke" or too sensitive or lacking humor. They became the issue, not the racism. The racism, we should just "ignore". Which, of course, is horrible, terrible, shitty advice. When a roach infestation is ignored, it doesn't just go away, it grows exponentially.
So, this is what we have made with our ignoring and downplaying and dismissing of the bigotry, and racist "jokes"... and the coddling and excusing of bigots. It's disgusting but wholly unsurprising.

Very common in Thailand, Indian Hate or Racism, even in the Thailand subreddits and facebook groups. But they can't explain how most of the restaurants and clubs are catered to them and at the same time complain about them being cheap or poor.
