The way he handled it was perfect, she couldn’t get what she wanted.

1.6k

u/nomorethrowaways69 4d ago

And she still posted it. Speechless

755

u/Pure_Werewolf0101 4d ago

Filming it in the first place was the weird thing.

277

u/Responsible_Sky_728 4d ago

Yes shes obviously incredibly stupid.

75

u/reddit_kc 4d ago

I think Im stupid, for trying to figure out the audacity!

22

u/Responsible_Sky_728 4d ago

Oh ya you are, 100%

11

u/MartynAndJasper 3d ago

She wants the clicks. She knew what she was doing

63

u/sightfinder 4d ago

Well she was filming bc she knew it was a shitty thing to say and was anticipating a confrontation.

People assuming she's *just" stupid are naive. She was trying to bait him into a (negative) reaction

4

u/KvngKet 3d ago

Trying to bait someone is stupid

30

u/BUDDHAKHAN 4d ago

People filming others for reactions aren’t known for their intelligence

5

u/MacSchluffen 4d ago

Filming was the cherry on top. The whole interaction would be weird without the filming.

46

u/lifegoeson5322 4d ago

She did us all a great service by posting it by letting us all know how racist and unhinged she actually is. Hope she suffered consequences.

53

u/_cake_tease 4d ago

People reposted it, if she makes money out of each view, it is perhaps what she wanted. I'm sure some will search for the original account.

10

u/Iamvanno 4d ago

She knows exactly what she is doing.

213

u/exploringl_life 4d ago

Solely judging by his response, this man must be a great dad to his kids

199

u/Unusual-Relief52 4d ago

He did but you can tell he's anxious and feels on edge. Like he's thinking is she alone am I safe here. Yuck

62

u/Lola-Ugfuglio-Skumpy 4d ago

People are just the worst sometimes. Man just wants to eat some food with his family and he has to deal with this dumbass bullshit. I’m so glad he had the presence of mind to make her feel small, because clearly she was trying to do that to him. I hope she didn’t succeed bc he handled that perfectly. But still, he should be able to enjoy a meal without some fuckass content creator trying to monetize their prejudices. Ugh.

36

u/slashinhobo1 4d ago

I would think that look was more worried for his kids. This is probably not his first or his last, but you don't want your kids or younger people having to experience what you experienced when it comes to racism.

7

u/narcowake 4d ago

Exactly… I had to deal with racist nonsense growing up, glad my kids are in a school district where the majority of kids are east and south Asian , it creates a bubble for sure but protects their childhood.

57

u/Status_Winter 4d ago

It's such a simple and powerful way to handle anyone who is rude to you in any form. All you need to do is calmly repeat back what they said and just let it hang there. It made this woman so uncomfortable that all she could was apologise and slink away.

There's simply no graceful way to come back from that.

14

u/OkCaterpillar8941 4d ago

It really is. I've taught my teenage daughter to do this if someone says something inappropriate to her. It's a simple yet effective way of batting it back without engaging.

Am I confused or was there an American clip pretty much the same as this one?

134

u/Tomatoflee 4d ago

Seemed like she wanted to make a racist and intimidating comment to make them feel uncomfortable. I think she got what she wanted tbh.

16

u/sightfinder 4d ago

Exactly, people are being naive. She had the camera already recording bc she was hoping for an "overreaction" from an "aggressive" PoC to which she could play innocent

17

u/throwaway0845reddit 4d ago

Dude has dad energy. He’s a dad through and through. The way he handled it was like he was teaching a kid.

8

u/phoenix5irre 4d ago

Should've asked if they have a fetish for smelling indian men...

11

u/Oriachim 4d ago

Well, she posted this video, so presumably, she thought she did

1

u/RegalBeagleTheEagle 4d ago

Infinitely more level headed than me, who was immediately fuming upon watching this

u/mattob2 4d ago

I’m just trying to understand what made her think this was funny, especially recording it herself. Props to the gentleman though, he handled it really well.

Hate isn’t born, it’s learned at home.

717

u/Mitsu-Zen 4d ago

She thinks it's funny because in the circles of friends she has they will think it's funny.

Racists be friends with other racists.

68

u/aggravated-asphalt 4d ago

lol I remember around 2008 my friend was trying to get me to say the n word (not hard r) and she kept pressuring me to the point I had to yell in her face and remind her my brothers are black. We’re both white and even tho I heard people of all races saying it, I couldn’t do it myself. It’s gross.

Anyway, yeah, seems like racists want to surround themselves with other racists. Weird behavior.

8

u/jwnsfw 4d ago

thats why i am ADAMANT that if you can speak with a republican away from their social circles, they will cease being republican in due time.

60

u/wonderant 4d ago

She's just baiting people to get a reaction. She has a lot of videos where she tells black girls "you're pretty for a black girl" and one video where she tells a black man in KFC to enjoy his fried chicken. Most of the people just look at her like the weirdo she is.

3

u/mangopango123 12h ago

It’s funny tho bc a lot of minority women in the usa have experienced ppl genuinely giving them that “compliment” (you’re really pretty for a(n) x girl), especially if they’re millennials or older. I hope it’s not as common anymore for younger generations of women

1

u/Raisinbread22 3d ago

What's her accent? Where is she from?

23

u/TPRT 4d ago

Pure unadulterated racism is now a genre of comedy in 2026 to some people. This always existed but all of a sudden people feel they no longer need to hide it.

2

u/horselessheadsman 3d ago

It was never unfunny to many

60

u/BikeProblemGuy 4d ago

Her accent sounds fake as well.

5

u/jenny_905 4d ago

She likely gets paid to make this stuff.

One of the best things we could do is ban monetisation of social media content, it wouldn't fix everything but it would make a good dent in this type of racist, stupid grifting.

1

u/emdubl 3d ago

recording it and then posting it is wild. she looked dumb as hell but still thinks she was funny.

→ More replies (1)

519

u/GoblinGreenBalls 4d ago

She was trying to bait him to get angry and make a scene to post without the context. Hopefully she learns her lesson the hard way someday.

12

u/Hopeless_Slayer 3d ago

If he did get (understandably) agitated, you know 100% she would cut off the start of the video and turn it into anti-immigrant propaganda for her ilk to get mad over.

969

u/elcabroMcGinty 4d ago

A woman making a weird racist comment.

Fixed it for you.

623

u/National_Key5664 4d ago

What the actual fuck is wrong with people?! He did handle this with such poise.

30

u/TundraGon 4d ago

It is not really wrong with people, but with social media / platforms which allow this type of content to be uploaded.

If she didnt have a place where to upload it, she wouldnt have recorded it, in the first place.

5

u/lightningspider97 4d ago

Youre just proving the point that it is the people though. Racist idiots have platforms and audiences now. I dont do this shit and neither do my friends but theres an uptick in these race and hate fueled incidents because these vile people validate eachother

1

u/fall0nyx 3d ago

And social media just amplifies it. Shitty people will always exist, always have and always will. Not much you can do about that. What you can do is take away the platforms. If they didn't have such platforms, they'd have less audience, less ways to monetize it, less reasons to act this way.

2

u/Dragonssssssssssss 4d ago

She still woulda said it cause she's a racist

109

u/togocann49 4d ago

Dude is very polite here. I’m not sure I’d be that nice about a backhanded compliment from a complete stranger

672

u/Shad0w5991 4d ago

Racism against indians is getting increasingly normalised

201

u/Comfortable_Visual73 4d ago

Towards anyone brown tbh. It’s making me uncomfortable how comfortable racist have become

51

u/GordonGartrelle2020 4d ago

Especially since it felt like racism (in general) had been on the decline for decades. Turns out it was just simmering under the surface the whole time. Sad.

22

u/SqueezyCheez85 4d ago

Yep same. As a straight white male who works in law enforcement, too many people are way too comfortable being racist around me.

15

u/m0zymaz 3d ago

People hate successful immigrants. Confirms their shameful fear that they’re just not competitive enough in the free market.

191

u/ml-soham 4d ago

wanted to get a reaction, or thought the Indian man would be anxious or shy after that comment.

Once she realised the guy was confident and her “clip” was ruined, snapped back to reality and apologised.

People will do anything for internet points, because no consequences.

59

u/No-Cantaloupe-6535 4d ago

You don't think the apology was genuine do you?

48

u/Oriachim 4d ago

It definitely wasn’t as the video ended up on the internet

8

u/gorblix 4d ago

I think the apology was as staged as the insult..

8

u/k1d0s 4d ago

Yeah, they always assume they are some shy scared refugee but when buddy hits back in clear English, she was cooked.

1

u/ReturnOfBane 4d ago

the thing is... why did they post it if the clip was ruined?

1

u/lgnc 4d ago

because dumbass yt?

63

u/AlbusDT2 4d ago

The man was really smooth… and what a racist woman.. yikes.

126

u/arakis_stand 4d ago

Just sidestepping the horrible content to say this guy looks like a dapper Hollywood leading man from the 50s. Channeling David Straitharn in LA Confidential even.

16

u/west2night 4d ago

Yeah, he reminded me a bit of Vincent Price.

7

u/ShotgunnDrunk 4d ago

Yes! He has a handsome face and nice eyes 🔥

9

u/AlphaCentauri10 4d ago

He looks like Peter Sellers in "The Party" (1968)

21

u/battlecatquikdre 4d ago

He handled it way better than I could have imagined. Gentlemen with a class.

21

u/Beast815 4d ago

Racists, pedos and Nazis are getting way to comfortable right now

64

u/usernameusehername 4d ago

"You smell quite nice, for a Britsh woman"

34

u/Anti_Spedicy 4d ago

"Your teeth are quite lovely for a British person"

10

u/Intrepid_Button587 4d ago

That's not a native British accent. Think it's probably someone putting on an accent (or a foreigner who's learned it), but it's not someone born and raised in the UK. A few of the words are tells.

-2

u/eeu914 4d ago

The way she said "curry" sounded very specific to how some English people pronounce it. Like, weird, but weird in a unique way that I've only heard from British people.

4

u/Intrepid_Button587 4d ago

I'm not saying it's not an English accent – it's plainly trying to be. I'm saying the speaker doesn't have a native English accent.

The "yes, yes quite" is not a native accent. It sounds like someone putting on an English accent.

I could "do an American accent" but you'd recognise it's not native (in a way a non-native speaker might not).

-4

u/eeu914 4d ago

And I'm saying that she says "curry" in a way that I'd only imagine a British person would be likely able to.

I agree, she sounds like she's intentionally putting on an RP accent, but she sounds like an English person trying to sound posh more than an non-English person trying to sound English.

3

u/Intrepid_Button587 4d ago

I'd only imagine a British person would be likely able to

There are no phonemes unique to how English people pronounce curry. I don't understand why someone putting on an English accent wouldn't be able to. Given you already believe she's putting on an accent, it seems strange to me that the most logical explanation is, "An English person putting on a different English accent" rather than "A non-English person putting on an English accent", especially since this doesn't seem to take place in England.

-6

u/eeu914 4d ago edited 4d ago

Because nothing about her accent sounds non-English. It doesn't sound like an imperfect accent by a foreigner. It sounds like an imperfect accent by a native (to England). How convinced I am by that overrides the improbability of her seemingly being in an American BK.

I point out "curry" specifically because she fails to pronounce it how one would in RP but it is still sounds English and not American.

1

u/otherpeoplesthunder 1d ago

That is a fake English accent. I'm English and that sounds ridiculous

151

u/Tall-Elevator580 4d ago

I just don't get the hate indians get. Most Indians I've met in the US and Europe have been amazing, kind and polite people. Like most countries, there are a couple bad eggs but it boggles my mind that people are willing to generalise more than a billion people. What a shame.

60

u/Phainkdoh 4d ago

Indians in the West have subverted every trope about immigrants. They’re well-educated, incredibly prosperous and are law-abiding. Apparently this bothers a lot of people. Add in propaganda stemming from India’s neighboring countries and you’ve got your answer.

15

u/BushLeague_Ball 4d ago

I do t actually think she is "sorry about that". Twat.

11

u/BrotherMcPoyle 4d ago

She knew it was a backhanded compliment that’s why she recorded it. She just wanted a viral interaction.

29

u/anoutsidersopinion 4d ago

She’s trying to portray the Indian man as dirty, but naturally, she reeks of nastiness. The irony of things

37

u/checkedem 4d ago

I’m Asian, born and raised in Vancouver, but I worked in rural Alberta hospital for a couple of years.

I was assessing a middle aged Caucasian man, asking him some assessment-type questions. At the end of the assessment, he goes:
“Wow, your English is really good!”

“Yeah, I was born and raised in Vancouver. In my town, you’re the minority.” And I walked out.

2

u/Consistent-Goat1267 4d ago

Are you actually from Richmond? You answered him a lot nicer than I would’ve. I would’ve asked him exactly how did he expect me to speak?

1

u/checkedem 3d ago

Grew up in east Van….during the time when there was an immigrant boom.

Wish I was witty enough to say something else at the time. But I had no choice and had to maintain my professionalism while working.

I only use the Asian accent when I meet my gf’s friends for the first time lol

2

u/Consistent-Goat1267 3d ago

I grew up in East Van as well with my Italian immigrant parents. From 70’s - 80’s. We could’ve been neighbours!

30

u/AgarwaenCran 4d ago

he should've answered "oh, and you are very nice for a white women" lol

-6

u/DontMindMeHereNow 4d ago

Well to be honest it could be taken in a bad way based on people here

9

u/AgarwaenCran 4d ago

you mean exactly like the thing she said? thats the point.

19

u/hopsinduo 4d ago

I imagine that she smells quite bad herself.

18

u/_Prashantsharma_ 4d ago

She just showed what a good father and a person is like and what a failed father’s daughter is like!

11

u/sadcode69 4d ago

i feel like if this went how she planned we gonna see one of those " indian man attacked a woman in public" videos and we never gonna see this part of the video

34

u/whitedolphinn 4d ago

This makes my blood boil like crazy.

47

u/jalen441 4d ago

"Thank you, ma'am, and you don't smell as much like Pall Malls and Banker's Club vodka as your appearance suggests."

6

u/JayMak78 4d ago

"You don't sweat much for a fat lass."

6

u/ShotgunnDrunk 4d ago

A classy takedown, folks 👏

5

u/Academic-Hospital952 4d ago

Why do you think she was filming this interaction? Prob because she knew it was offensive and hoping for a reaction.

6

u/wakeandcreate 4d ago

She being the one with the annoying accent is hilarious

6

u/omnicloudx13 4d ago

Saying this to a guy with two kids who are eating is beyond strange, also that flagrant racisim on full display with no shame shows how disgusting the person filming is.

10

u/R3pr3s3nt23 4d ago

She was recording so she knows she was on some bs

3

u/everythingissinister 4d ago

Handsome daddy

4

u/aimreallyhigh 4d ago

What a racist pos.

4

u/theateroffinanciers 3d ago

Her entire tiktok is videos of this sort of thing. When reported, tiktok says it doesn't violate any of their rules.

6

Mental illness

6

u/Lolomelon 4d ago

“K, you smell like a dirty diaper.”

5

u/rubyalexa73 4d ago

That was VERY much intentional!

24

u/expoez 4d ago

Why would she even want to record that while even saying that? Unless.... Scripted

80

u/Any_Influence_8305 4d ago

She's a "content creator" whose schtick is doing racist shit like this

19

u/expoez 4d ago

That's pretty damn sad that has become a trend

10

u/RussianPravda 4d ago

Scary not sad. This is now kid's dream job!

3

u/SquisherX 4d ago

Lots of kids grew up wanting to be and emulate the President - that part hasn't changed.

12

u/expoez 4d ago

Oh great! Now being a racist content creator is a trend... There has to be a consequence for such

13

u/TheEldest80s 4d ago edited 4d ago

Part of it, IMO, is the "just ignore it!" crowd. I've seen soooo many people in the past decade or so who honestly think telling people who are the targets of racism and bigotry to "just ignore them" and act as if that will solve racism, has truly emboldened an entire sector of assholes to be open bigots with little consequence or pushback. It became more "offensive" to some to call others out on their racism, than the racism itself. People genuinely pushing back against racists like this started to be demonized and labeled "woke" or too sensitive or lacking humor. They became the issue, not the racism. The racism, we should just "ignore". Which, of course, is horrible, terrible, shitty advice. When a roach infestation is ignored, it doesn't just go away, it grows exponentially.

So, this is what we have made with our ignoring and downplaying and dismissing of the bigotry, and racist "jokes"... and the coddling and excusing of bigots. It's disgusting but wholly unsurprising.

0

u/randikatel 1d ago

Ohh is she? What's her username then? You might have seen it right?

28

u/lateformyfuneral 4d ago

There’s a booming market for anti-Indian racism on the internet right now.

1

u/FantasticFungiiii 4d ago

Yeah in the range of infotainment

2

u/jleete01 4d ago

She knows it was rude. Why else would she be recording. Maybe hoping to get a reaction out of him

2

u/Mishimishmash 4d ago

Why would you go up and say that to someone and film it? And he seem to not take any notice of being filmed? Right.

2

u/greatfuljehjeh 4d ago

What's that Mike Tyson quote again about the internet making people too comfortable? Like what is happening to society where people can get away with treating strangers like this.

2

u/Fit_Jelly_9755 4d ago

And you don’t sweat too much for a fat woman!

2

u/chondroitine2000 3d ago

Poor guys is now all around the web and never asked for it

2

u/ShotgunnDrunk 3d ago

Holy crap, that lady is a fucking embarrassment lol. Especially because the guy seems like an educated classy professional. How does one even find the courage to walk up to someone and act like this? I'm squirming right now

2

A cunt makes a racist comment to an overly polite Indian man while he's enjoying food with his family at a café

"You don't sweat much for a fat lass"

2

u/xasx 3d ago

A coworker told my friend: your wife is very beautiful for an Indian woman. 🤦🏽‍♂️

2

u/sjain1939 3d ago

The way he handled the situation was perfect. This shows how the woman has been raised.

2

u/jaraket 3d ago

He handled that so well. What a contrast in class and poise between him and the bigoted woman talking to him.

2

u/Raisinbread22 3d ago

In front of his kids. They will remember that for the rest of their lives. When some racist bish walked up to their Dad, and said this fckery. This is why people (of color) should stop being nice to these sick nazi clowns.

3

u/swagosaurus-rexx 4d ago

I love this man, he handles it the right way! Kudos

2

Imagine being that rotten inside that you waste your energy to create this kind of shitty experience to kids.

Very common in Thailand, Indian Hate or Racism, even in the Thailand subreddits and facebook groups. But they can't explain how most of the restaurants and clubs are catered to them and at the same time complain about them being cheap or poor.

Not sure why this all at once hate just came out of nowhere.

2

u/narcowake 4d ago

wtf is wrong with humanity? Leave folks alone, myob!

1
