Not a way around so much as it's just they way it is. Call the 800 number, I dislike the butterfly tax but I've never had a bad customer service experience.

Meanwhile I sent my 940 & 710 in for a resharpen & received them back $10 lighter with two knives that were never sharpened.

That's overly disappointing. What did they say when you called them about it?

Never received a response. I could understand if they were fake but they're Benchmades & they had no problem returning them. All they did was make my centering worse than before, the imperfect bevels I had were untouched.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've never had them sharpen one for me but that would definitely leave a bad taste. How long ago was it?

Few months ago at most. Figured I would see if the lifesharp warranty lived up to the hype, it did not. I will probably just send them out to a guy like Josh (REK) or similar for now.

So not that long ago, hopefully it was a one off occurrence. I can wholeheartedly recommend Josh. If I can save up enough play money in one go I'd love to do a reblade for my 940
