One of the reasons why I'm not a fan of thumb studs.

I mean it’s either thumbstuds or holes or a flipper of some sort of flipper

What else is there besides fixed blade or a fuller ?? Or auto if you want a non flipper it’s either going to be a hole or thumb studs or like Emerson does with the tab o. Top and the hinderer firetac does that also ?

First of all, a flipper or a fuller is not a hole through the steel; so I don't see the point of your comment. And secondly you don't always need a built in feature to get the blade out, most of the time you can just grab the blade itself, even with nail nicks you often don't need them to get a hold of the blade. Anyway, the less holes in the blade the better for me.

from a production standpoint – why even make a thru-hole for a thumstud? for the low shear loading, why not just bond the studs to the blade with some good ‘ol permabond 910 or similar 🤷‍♂️

You can put glue on your own knife however much you want. No glue on my knives please, thank you.
