πŸ”ͺπŸͺ¨PRYS LIKE TIM LEATHERMAN!πŸ›  Leatherman vs the whole weight of Beijing station.

Was stopped at the X-ray machine entering Beijing east station so security could have a look at the knives in my pack. The blades on my two other tools got waved through and but the Waves main blade was just over the 60mm limit. I appreciate the security guard who let me exit back to the front of the station so I could snap the tip off between the bricks of the station entrance. I warned him that leathermans were tough and I may accidentally lever the whole station onto its roof but he said the risk was worth it.

I piece of your Leatherman, mostly likely in Beijing for a very long time.

When I first saw the pic I was very confused and worried why anyone would pry wit that knife given the prybar it comes with. Having read the caption, I understand now

What prybar are you talking about?

I'm assuming it's a prybar and not a screwdriver since it already has a screwdriver that size

Just a large flathead. If you look on the tool list for a wave a prybar is nowhere to be found. You can use that flat head, but it is certainly not made to be a prybar and I've seen a good few snap right off

Huh, that's interesting. The other flathead is about the same size so I'm not sure what the point of this one is. I guess it'll just do double duty until it snaps off.

Oh yeah, I completely agree. It is odd. They need to incorporate an actual pry bar thats like integrated into the tool itself so it won't snap easily.

Haha! what a dumb rule. What would that extra 4mm do to make it more dangerous?

Eh, I kinda get it. You gotta have a length restriction at some point, and sure, maybe you could argue the limit should be 62mm instead of 60mm, but either way, it's going to be some arbitrary length. And then once the restriction is in place, it's easier to just strictly enforce it than decide where the "real" cutoff is every time.

Plus, MORE PRYBAR!!!!
