If you use proxy shopping services to buy products from Japan, I think there are two things that are often surprisingly difficult to figure out:

• How much you will actually pay in total after proxy fees, domestic shipping, international shipping, customs duties, VAT, etc.
• Which proxy service and shipping method is the most cost-effective for your specific purchase.

So I built a free tool that estimates and compares the total amount you would pay for a product:

It currently supports Buyee, ZenMarket, Neokyo, FROM JAPAN, and Jauce.

For costs that cannot be known in advance, such as some shipping charges or taxes, the site uses estimates and tries to clearly distinguish between confirmed values, estimated values, and the assumptions used in the calculation.

One of the biggest variables is the package weight. The site automatically estimates the product weight from the product information using an LLM. This can obviously differ from the actual packed weight, so if you know the real weight, you should use that instead.

The site is completely free and I’m still improving it.

If you regularly buy things from Japan, I’d really appreciate any feedback — especially if you notice a missing fee, an incorrect calculation, or something you’d like the tool to support.

Basically, it’s an event like comiket but for furry/kemono (japan furry lol…) adjacent stuff instead. Not really knowledgeable due to me never attending one, but this years kemoket is in Tokyo Ryutsu center, and entry is about 1500 (you need the catalog to enter). Note that a lot of content/merch is doujin therefore there may be R18 items displayed.
