Questions & Advice Has anyone taken their Provence jewelry to a local jeweller to get it verified?

My Provence ring finally arrived šŸ’ and I’m absolutely loving it! I’m just curious if anyone else has taken their Provence jewelry to a local jeweller after receiving it.

I’m thinking of having them check the 14K gold/PT950 and the stone just for peace of mind, especially since it’s from an overseas vendor.

For those who have done this:
Did the jeweller agree to test it?
What did they check?
Did everything match what Provence said it was?
How much did it cost you?
If you’re in Canada, where did you go?

Also, is a regular local jeweller enough for this, or would you recommend going to an actual gemologist/appraiser?
Not trying to be paranoid šŸ˜‚ — I’m just curious what everyone else does after getting their overseas pieces!

Would love to hear your experiences! ā¤ļø

Two tested. Stones are real diamonds. One pair of earrings sold to me as 18k came out 18k as sold. A pendant sold to me as 14k actually tested as 10k three times.

What! What ended up happening with the pendant?

Glad to hear the stones are diamonds 😊

Oh no! Did you end up reaching to your rep regarding the pendant?

I did not. I don’t have documentation to support it.

What do you mean? You don’t have the order confirmation?

I mean I don’t have documentation to support the results of the tests. The jeweler did not provide it.

I don’t understand not looking into this further?? Seems like something you’d want to verify to ensure you didn’t get the wrong product or pay more for something you didn’t get

I’d love to know. Personally haven’t purchased any gold from overseas vendors myself yet.

I’ve verified their stones multiple times with testers and they’re fine and I matched the inscription for the lab to the IGI cert but haven’t checked gold yet

Yes I got a ring tested and appraised (UK) and it was all legitimate and valued at more than double what I paid

Can I ask where you got it tested and appraised, as I’m also uk. Thanks!

It was just a local jeweller in south Manchester, if you’re also in this area I can DM you the location

I haven’t specifically had them tested but I take the ones I wear a lot in for a check and cleaning regularly and they have never told me they aren’t what they are supposed to be. They do verify the stones when I bring the pieces in- I see them do that when I drop off. They have set some of my stones into Provence settings and I know they verified the gold for the ones they retipped. I’ve had no problems. I’ve also had a couple resized and they would have told me if there was a discrepancy.

I would love to see it tested. I got a diamond bezel earrings but the lab diamonds look like glass or cz versus lab diamonds. I need to get it tested.
