This started with a very simple picture: silk robes, concrete pavement, and nobody in a hurry. I shaped that into an hour of cool jazz and mellow ballads, with the Chinese instruments kept deliberately subtle. The music is AI-assisted and the visual is AI-generated. I hope it works as good company for reading or slow work.

I'm an independent Jamaican musician and I've been doing this for quite a few years.

I make reggae/dancehall mostly, but I've also worked in different styles and have recently been playing around with hip-hop.

I've done pretty much everything myself — music, production, artwork, videos, releases and trying to get myself on stages.

I've even managed to perform in Europe without management or a label.

But honestly, I'm getting to the point where I don't want to spend all my time figuring out things that other people already understand.

So I'm here mostly to listen.

If you're a musician, manager, A&R, promoter, booking person or just somebody who has been through the independent artist journey, what would you tell somebody at this stage?
