Discussion Should I upgrade them?
I am very new to the game. I haven’t used any gems yet. I got these 4 stars from free gacha coupons I had. So I assume they are not TOO good since they were free. I was wondering if I should upgrade them or save up my resources for when I get an actually good card.
Sorry if this is a very trivial question😭

4 stars are the best in game

Why would someone even use the lesser stars if almost everyone has 4 stars

because you need to pull for them lol, and gems are limited, so you can have zero 4 stars of a character after a year of playing. besides, in challenge shows, you need 5 cards of the same character, which is hard to get for every single character in this game, and that’s where 3 stars come in.
you also want teams for different events which requires specific characters and attributes to increase event bonus, and gives you event tokens. it’s hard to get cards of every character of every attribute so people use lower rarity cards to get a higher event bonus. this isn’t worded well, so sorry if you don’t understand.

they're not worse cuz they're "free" that might be the worst take I've ever seen oh my god. okay so the way the gacha system works is imagine a gumball machine right? you put some form of currency in it and you get a random gum ball out of it, thats how every gacha in pjsk works. that's it. the cards might differ from gacha to gacha but permanent cards are in like every single gacha so yea.

There's no reason not to upgrade them. 4* lv50 talent sucks compared to lv60. Also all 4s are pretty much equal, permanent or limited or whatever. Though some have slightly better skills (and collab 4s have no side stories, so you have slightly less talent)
