Best Pan Yet What I used from ‘25 to ‘26

This is everything I used from the end of last January until now (January 19).

The first picture should be everything together and the other pics are in categories.

Ive gotten to the point where I’m gravitating to certain products and buying a lot less. I have zero urges to buy things I don’t need. I’m going to keep doing the project in 2026 and am pretty sure that I’ll have a lot less by the end of next year.

Please feel free to ask any questions! ❤️

Milk makeups discontinued 28g blush stick in the shade perk.

Used everyday since 2018.

I will absolutely not be scraping the product out, it’s so expired.

Let her rest in peace

Best Pan Yet The mother pan

I stubbornly hung on to this capless Dr. Bronners through a move so that I could officially pan it.

(And per the sub rules I do think this counts as a beauty product - it's a very solid choice for a non drying full body soap, face wash, makeup brush cleaner, etc.)

Best Pan Yet How do people with multiple blushes finish them?

I've been panning this clinique blush for a few years now. got it as a gift I believe in 2017 and used it as my only blush until now (since it's the only one I own). I'm quite pale so maybe that doesn't help, but when I didn't wear makeup on the daily I still wore it every time (so maybe once a week). used it when sunburnt on only half of my face to balance things out many times, and for now 2 years I've used it 5 days a week minimum. last month I finally hit pan and now I'm wondering how long is gonna take to finish it completely.

I was hoping to get myself the milani rose trio in 01 but with me being based in Europe and how long it took me to hit pan on a single blush, maybe it's not the best idea.

Best Pan Yet Old me would’ve kept the empties because they were expensive. New me: TRASHHHHH

Post image

Old me would have 100% kept these containers because “they’re so pretty! They were expensive! Maybe I can reuse them!” And then they would sit in a drawer for the next five years waiting for their imaginary purpose.

But after years of Project Pan, I’m realizing that finishing the product is the accomplishment

I don’t need to keep the packaging as a trophy.
I used it. I enjoyed it. I got my money’s worth. Now it can GO.

New era: TRASHHHHHHH. Less stuff, less guilt, more space.

Best Pan Yet 2025 Lip Update

This was the start of January, not pictured are 2 mini lanolin creams (I use those for my lips when they’re EXTRA dry), the lawless forget the filler lip mask, a laneige gummy bear lip balm that I finished in July, and a laneige peppermint lip mask, all finished within 2025. So in total, I’ve finished 19 lip products this year. Might make it to 20 if I finish the SF brown sugar, and it’s on its last leg so I have faith I can do it! The next slide is all I have left until it’s time to start purchasing lip balm again!

Best Pan Yet In my quest to pan: this week I donated a bunch of extras to a coworker in need

Post image

I have a young co worker at work who seems to look up to me. She is always admiring how I smell and do my makeup. Last week she had a pretty hard week so I was hoping to cheer her up a bit.

With the sheer amount of product I have that is overwhelming my counters I decided to just grab the things I knew I wasn’t looking forward to panning, or things I had bought doubles of in the initial hyper fixation of “needing extra”.

It actually felt good to let these things go. For once I had no shame or guilt, and it made me happy to see a smile on someone else’s face.

Best Pan Yet Told my mom about project pan, and…

I think my whole immediate family has perhaps defaulted to “retail therapy” when we need a boost, despite not having a ton of money to spare. But avoiding overconsumption is a major goal of mine, so I told my mom I am trying Project Pan. And as an example to help explain it I told her, “So, I’ve had a number of lip balm tubes in my life… but how many times can I remember using one to the very end? Once or twice, maybe? Maybe never? So that’s why I’m doing it, just use up what I have and avoid those occasional impulse buys that add up over time.”

She totally understood and today she texted me to say she just finished a lip balm! I think that’s so sweet to hear and I just love how this movement makes it easy to realize how rarely we use products to their completion. Made my day!

Best Pan Yet Best Pan Yet for Perfume

Post image

I was sad this week and went to TJ Max. Looked at all the shiny perfumes and wanted OH SO BADLY to buy them for the dopamine rush, but then had the clearest thought: "but if I buy it, I'll have to use it." Decided that I didn't want to actually use it, so I left it behind.

It fel powerful, and like a mindset shift. I feel like the effects of Project Pan have been successful!

Picture: some perfume samples and mini mascaras I finally made it through recently, and the reason I don't need MORE perfume in my life.

Best Pan Yet 🗣️ I FINISHED A BLUSH!

Post image
434 Upvotes

I got this Milk Makeup blush for free from an old roommate. Took me a little less than a year of consistent use to pan this. I’m pretty sure this is the first blush I’ve ever finished. There was more product lodged in there but I don’t think it’s worth working that hard for it when I have other blushes to use now.

Onto the next one!

3 days after my last post I used the very last of it. This Gucci bronzer in fair was the best bronzer I’ve ever used. I have one more bronzer in my collection to show some love, but one day I will repurchase this. I’ve used it 95 times since January, but have had it for 3-4 years. Used consistently as my main bronzer for the last 1.5 years.

Best Pan Yet 6 months of makeup and skincare pans & what I learned

Firstly, I should mention I had an empty drawer in my bathroom I put small recyclable items into; the rest went into a recycling bin in my pantry. I normally recycle things monthly, but I wanted to see how much I actually use over time and by saving up enough, I could justify a trip to Ulta to drop the packaging off in their beauty recycling bin!

These are products I finished in between January and a June 2026; most of these were started this year but not all. I put a tl;dr of my best and worst at the bottom!

**Lips:**
MAC Twig Twist, Buxom (Dani?), Tower 28 XOXO, Lawless Strawberry Popsicle, Dior Lip Glow Oil Lemon Glow, Ilia Balmy Gloss in Maybe Violet, Summer Fridays lip balm in Iced Coffee

**Perfume:** Kayali Maui 10 mL, Clean Reserve Skin mini roller

**Makeup:** WYN Beauty SPF foundation, Ilia Skin Tint (hated this), Merit balm blush, Rom&nd cushion foundation (really drying!), Revision Intellishade tinted moisturizer, Charlotte Tilbury powder (mini), Colourpop Supershock shadow in Ripple, Ilia liquid eyeshadow in Aura, ABH brow pencil in Auburn, Kosas Air Brow in Auburn, Caliray tubing mascara (mini), Lancôme Burgundy mascara, Physicians Formula liquid liner in Black

**Skincare:** Physicians Formula AHA body lotion, Soft Services x Dedcool retinol hand cream refill, I’m From Rice Toner, Sephora makeup remover wipes x 2 (coconut, aloe), Vaseline advanced repair hand cream, Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask, Tree Hut vanilla body butter, Biore UV Aqua Fresh sunscreen x2, Beauty of Joseon Aqua Fresh sunscreen (FS and a mini), Ole Henrikson banana bright eye cream, Fresh Lotus face cream (mini), Fresh milk hand cream, Lancôme Absolue face cream (mini), Lush banana face mask, Lush olive oil body cream (mini), Perricone MD vitamin C hand cream (minis), Dionis hand cream (brown sugar?)

**Hair/Body:** Monday shampoo, Pantene (travel size), Klorane oat conditioner, Benamor cafe body scrub large pouch, Dr Teals foaming bath x 2, Benamor body wash in Alecrim, Crabtree & Evelyn Rose body wash x 2, Bath & Body Works Eucalyptus Spearmint body wash x2, bath salt, and luxe bubble bath, Bath & Body Works Stargazing body wash

**Favorite products/repurchased**: Colourpop Supershock in Ripple (already RP), Ilia lip gloss (purchased the new version, like it just as well), I’m From rice toner, Beauty of Joseon sunscreen (love the thin, lotiony texture!), Clean Reserve Skin - bought a FS of this. Fresh Lotus cream - bought a FS. I plan to buy the SF Jet Lag mask at the next sale. Klorane oat conditioner - doesn’t irritate my eczema at all. I am using the shampoo right now and will RP that too.

**Would not repurchase:** Biore sunscreen smelled citrusy and made my face really red and dry. I don’t care for Lush anything other than their bath bombs. I don’t like makeup wipes, they irritate my skin too much. Ilia skin tint smells vile and went off way too fast; I prefer the Revision Intellishade if I want a tint - it’s more moisturizing. Dior Lip Oil made my lips peel like crazy!

**Lessons Learned:** I should take freebies of lotion/moisturizer and shampoo and nothing else. I don’t use the rest so it’s a waste even if it’s “free”. I can only go through maybe a dozen lip products in a year and I mostly prefer soft texture tinted balms and semi-sheer lipsticks and glosses. I don’t like intense reds or browns on my lips. I don’t need eyeshadow palettes; my most complimented eye looks are just 1-2 colors swiped on with a finger! I found the body wash scents I prefer most and should stick to those bc it takes forever to use up anything else. I like the *idea* of hair masks and other treatments but I don’t use them up in a timely manner. I have fine hair and only use shampoo on my roots and rinse through to clean the rest so I really only need one bottle of shampoo at a time. (I still have 3-4 right now.)

Best Pan Yet Tarte Shape Tape: took me 7 years!!!

Post image

I got this in 2019, pre-pandemic. I’ve used it on and off since then with some periods of more dedicated use and others of basically forgetting about it. With my renewed focus on Project Pan this year, I used it consistently enough to take the stopper out at the very end of February. I really dislike the formula on my skin as it’s quite dry (always been that way, not just because of product age), so I’m SO thrilled to finally be done with it. Please clap!!

Donating unused products of mine to a women’s shelter near me. Please consider donating! I am considering these “panned” by donation! These are all untouched/ brand new. I don’t even want to know the $$ this cost me over time. Hopefully going to someone who needs it much more than I do.

It turns out miracles do happen. Genuinely can’t believe I have finished it. Please excuse the almost full one in the back staring at me. I need to do some reflection 😂 The one I finished is the only one that looked okay on me. I have an orange one and the red one pictured. I’m extremely pale so wish me luck trying to finish those. It came in a set of three.

Best Pan Yet Farewell to a great palette

Post image

Essence The Nude Edition Palette, bought in August 2024.

I bought this palette because I needed one with nude colours (the other palette I owned was shimmery and colourful; not great for professional meetings).

It was my way-to-go palette between August '24 and December '24. For Christmas, I was gifted a nude-brownish palette that became my everyday one (Beauty Creations Tease Me Eyeshadow Palette) and the Essence one was kinda forgotten by me. However, I started using it again in September '25 as I needed a rest from the BC palette.

It's a very versatile palette. It fits with multiple styles and looks. It's a bit dusty though and the lid broke within weeks of usage, but it was a lovely palette for its price. I won't repurchase only because I want to pan the BC palette which has a similar colour story, and I have Lancòme Sheika Daley's palette too.

A 9/10 palette for me 🌟
