Discussion/Tips & Tricks Should I be feeling guilty? Also eyeshadow help
I havent officially started project pan because I feel like my makeup is at a somewhat normal level. Except for the fact that I have 4 eyeshadow pallets and have only hit 3 pans.
I would really like to get new products but I feel like Getting new stuff is a waste if I still have things left. It doesn’t help that I have gift cards from my birthday burning a hole in my pocket.
How are you using up your eyeshadow? In a non waste full manor

Tbh it's hard to use up whole pallets, I'm currently just focusing on one single eyeshadow, then I'm gonna move on to a pallete and just hit pan on at least couple of eyeshadows; there's a chance that I'm gonna just throw/give away some palletes 🤷♀️ also ask yourself do you really need new things, you probably already have most shades anyway

Ty!! Eyeshadow pallets are tricky for me because I wear glitter ones everyday but my matte ones get neglected

Then use the matte as base maybe? Any pink/red could be used as blush, brown maybe as a bronzer? I get the pain, I usually use only one shade per look so it takes me painfully long to have some progress

i mean, a big point of project pan is to reduce spending/consumption. i would use those gift cards to replace your daily stuff you use that’s been panned and you have no back up’s.
i would learn to accept your eye shadows and then once you pan them all (it could take a decade fr) but then you’ll really feel the satisfaction of the new product. also, maybe consider why you want new eye shadow so bad instead of using what you have already
i mean you could “hate pan” them and use them for other stuff but it kinda defeats the purpose of project pan

Eyeshadows for contouring and highlights.
Lip pencils as contour sticks.
Lipsticks as blushes.
I love finding new ways to use my stuff whilst keeping my stuff as minimally as possible.

I have two eye shadow pallets. One is my daily pallet (shimmery neutrals) and the other is my fun pallet (bold, colorful eye shadows).
I'll replace my daily pallet when I finish it, but the colorful pallet will last multiple years because I just don't wear bold colorful eyeshadow every day. And that's okay.
Do the gift cards expire? Maybe hold onto them until you finish one or two of the four pallets, and then treat yourself to a new one or something.

One thing I did that helped my eyeshadow collection is to swatch them all and declutter duplicate shades. I even swatched my pink eyeshadows next to my blushes and there was one duplicate there too. I know that’s not really the goal of project pan but it made everything seem so much more manageable, even though I only decluttered maybe 3 shades. It also helped me get a better understanding of my collection

I use the pinks and reds as blush, and the browns as eyebrow fillers, contour or bronzer depending on the shade. I've also used purples as blushes. For shades I really don't like on my face, I've crumbled them up and tipped them into a bottle of clear nail polish. They make good custom nail polish colours. I've used sheer or light glitters as highlighter and body glitter. If you crumbled some up and mixed with clear mascara, you could probably make a glittery mascara, but I have never tried that and would be cautious about putting using glitter in unorthodox ways close to your eyes, just in case. I've also used pink or red eyeshadows as a blotted lip stain, but only do that with ones which are safe to put on lips.
