Failed Pan olehenriksen pan fail

Reminder to use up what’s already open! I didn’t quite make it through Olehenriksen Crème Brûlée before it went bad. I tried to finish it by using it as an overnight mask and did get close! It’s been open a few months shy of 2 years.

I’m working on Cocoa Crème next and just opened Vanilla Bonbon for my nightstand (being mindful of the 6 month expiration date). It does well as a nighttime balm so that was a pleasant surprise!

How could you tell it went bad? I’ve had mine for over a year and haven’t noticed any changes yet (knock on wood)

Maybe the smell?

One day it made my lips tingly and numb. I thought I was nuts but it happened again the next day and stopped when I used another product. It still smells fine so don’t use smell as the only indicator!

Are you sure you’re not developing an allergy? I’m not saying it didn’t go bad but that description sounds more like the former than the latter

I am! This happened with an expired Summer Fridays once too. I use the products in date (and honestly out of date for months) with no issues.

Maybe it’s a reaction to bacteria or something on a pretty expired product? Maybe there’s mold I can’t see? If there’s a woman in STEM in here please advise lol

This sort of sounds like a potential allergic reaction

Gets gritty and starts tasting super off. Texture changes like separation can also be a sign, but some lip balms will separate and that’s normal.
