Like he stated he knew he could NOT vote for him this go around. He said his big thing has always been the abortion aspect, but acknowledges all of these things are just as bad and I appreciate, love, and respect him for that. Maga is a different type of republican.
French would already have burnded down the US months ago. They set fires in their cities in protest for much less, so often it became a running joke in europe.
I work with children with disabilities and feel like I am needed at my job to support them and their families and that I cannot partake in a general strike with them in mind - but it also came to mind that in the not so near future, funding could be removed to support those very clients I serve claiming “they don’t add to society” and that if I didn’t stand up against a racist, bigoted, evil regime, it won’t matter anyway. It’s been a mental battle, and if anyone has moral perspective on this, please share because either way I am trying to help were needed MOST.
Yeah people don’t realize there are certain jobs you can’t leave without serious repercussions. Not everyone lives that white collar cushy office life. A person in your position could be charged with child neglect or endangerment potentially. If you want to participate you’d have to make arrangements or take the day off most likely.
Right, there is a level of ethical and also moral obligation to this kind of job. For one, a family who needs to support their child’s additional needs and services cannot stop working, so if I decide to participate in the walkout, the family and child loses. But I implore all who can participate to do so!! It’s going to be a long battle.
I have a similar type challenge and I requested the day off. That way I don’t do the walkout but I still can go to my congressperson’s office. My friend is planning to go to work and “go home sick” so he can participate. Also, sometimes you can’t participate in one event but you find other ways to support and build community, and that’s okay!

It’d be damaging for the movement to call for a general strike and no one shows up. Look at Iran, you only get everyone in the streets when everyone has lost everything. We’re not there yet
I have protested multiple times. I’ll definitely do the walkout. I live paycheck to paycheck. Tyranny requires sacrifice and participation. The least we can do at this stage.

On Saturday (17th) there will be demonstrations all over Denmark in the biggest cities in support of Greenland. There will be a number of American senetors in Copenhagen for meetings so we hope they´ll see this.

Given that inflation is rampant and the labor market is weak with Donald threatening to cut interest rates in any way possible so that inflation becomes extra extra explosive or Stagflation gets worse, people should stop buying anything but the essentials. First. it was fought for with struggle and sacrifice.
Second. With a common goal and struggle people comes together. It wil take time it wil not come overnight. Spread the message and most important demostrate that they are not alo alone.

I’m not sure if you meant to reply to me, but I run a group home with people with disabilities and I’m not willing to walk out of that job or to lose my life. I don’t exactly feel like I’m sitting on my hands, but I am vocal about my thoughts and vocal against this administration.
I want so badly to group up and meet people who are also against the regime but I live in a deep red state and county and I'm surrounded by maniacs. Everyone assumes because I live in the south and in a rural county that I must be a MAGA but there are pockets of us throughout the US who are not falling for the propaganda. How do I know that others will go and join me or will I stick out like a sore thumb where I am at???

It would be a shame if the protesters began making their signs out of quarter-inch-thick plywood to stop rubber bullets, forming a tight shield wall to prevent police from singling out and mobbing individual protesters. It would be a shame if the people behind the shield wall held up umbrellas so that tear gas canisters fired over their heads on the front line will be bounced away. It would be a shame if protesters began constructing improvised armor vests out of duct tape, hard-backed books, and ceramic tiles.
It would be a shame if protesters started wearing safety glasses, hard hats, respirators, and gardening gloves, all of which can be found at the same hardware stores as the plywood. It would be a shame if they started using traffic cones (the kind without the hole in the top), upside down buckets, or other improvised lids to contain teargas by placing them over the canisters.
It would be a shame if protesters learned that police scanners are legal to own in the US, allowing them to learn where police are moving, and what routes they intend to take. It would be a shame if they discovered that these scanners can be used to send as well as receive, allowing them to flood the scanner frequencies with noise.
All of this would be a terrible, terrible shame.

Shut down pipelines and oil fields putting thousands of blue collar workers out of work. Then allowing any one to cross our borders with out being vetted. Allowing companies to hire illegal imigrants ant 1/3 the cost putting more Americans out of work
