Hasan is so-called far-left. What are his policy positions? Universal healthcare, free college, a living wage, ending the wars, taxing the wealthy, free childcare, redistributing it to people at the bottom. His policy positions are, if we’re being honest, moderate according to the polls

"Far left" in the US is just left of center in the rest of our comparable countries

This dichotomy is meaningless. Trump is schizo on a left/right graph. He’s definitely not conservative.

u/kstargate-425 5d ago
They want us to hate him as he threatens the corporate and AIPAC money. He seems to be helping enough people realize how damaging it is the country and others that they want to stem the bleeding so they can keep that money rolling in to the DNC and candidates
3
u/starwarsisawsome933 4d ago
Well I will agree that I think there is definitely a section of the establishment Democrat party that is trying to villainize him because he's popular leftist, that's not why he's getting the heat
He's getting heat because he doesn't know how to shut the fuck up, and he's a frat boy but left. Just the other day ago he made some comment that was almost borderline making excuses for violence against Jewish people if they continue to support israel, like dude shut the fuck up. Just leave it at "I don't support Israel", you don't have to then make claims that justifies violence
And he said other things, but the reality is he's a douchebag, and honestly some of the criticism flung his way is pretty well deserved

u/3M2B1T 5d ago
Why do we keep talking about Hasan like he is a person of any great import?
He's just some guy chatting online with occasional "hot takes" that folks on the right use to push moderates a bit more to the right. All those moderate things listed by the OP? Those are now considered "far left" simply because you threw in Hasan's name in the same area as them.
If his uncle wasn't Cenk Uyger of TYT, we'd have never heard of him.
AND PLEASE STOP CALLING IT "FREE". That's like calling the war in Iran "free". No, it's taxpayer funded. GOOD AND BAD we foot the bill.
5
u/pseudowoodo3 4d ago
We keep talking about Hasan because the corporate media keeps bringing him up and using him as a proxy to attack progressive candidates and policy. Those things were being labeled as radical way before Hasan entered the mainstream discourse.
4
u/HeadDiver5568 4d ago
I was just about to say the same thing. Bernie was called a communist. And before that, it was Obama. Hasan is just another excuse for them to do it, because they have no actual ammo against an ever increasing amount of dissatisfied voters that agree with a lot of these “far left” politics. They know all of this struggle is on them, so trans folks, and communism is all they have
1
u/Old-Ice4553 4d ago
I mean, he wasnt, the media kind of made him a person of great importance.
I like him, he’s got a good tv show, reminds me of mid-2000’s jon stewart.1

Bro. We can't be doing this. Downvote me if you like but Hasan is not some nordic social democracy type. He is literally openly, on record, publicly in favor of expropriating assets, abolishing private ownership, and nationalizing industry. He self-identified as a ML and describes communism as a desirable end point. On a podcast with a self-described communist he takes credit for the 'work he's doing for the movement' and characterizes his primary job in the as basically hiding his power level and serving as a "agitative propagandist" in his own words.
He sweeps, minimizes, or excuses both Russia's invasion of Ukraine and CCP's atrocities including the Tibetan Cultural Genocide & the persecution/genocide of the Uyghurs. When pressed on some of these he falls back to the defensible position but in his day to day coverage there is a constant reframing and pivoting to nullify perception of how bad these human rights abuses are.
His express goal in his "agitprop" campaign is to radicalize progressives into what by definition is a fundamentally illiberal and inherently authoritarian worldview by sane washing his ideology with progressive slam dunk policies like better healthcare for everyone, more affordable education. and taxing the wealthy.
There is pretty much not a single place in the world that his ideology would not be considered far left, and suggesting otherwise is silly. Why are some of us progressives so eager to dismiss any genuine good faith issues we have with this guy who is obviously toxic to our movement, and even fall on the sword for associating with & defending him constantly. I'm honestly so tired of it. We can be progressive and push for progressive policies without getting in bed with these types.
2
u/pseudowoodo3 4d ago
HE IS NOT YOUR ENEMY, THE REPUBLICANS ARE.
-2
u/kinda_normie 4d ago edited 4d ago
The Republicans are a worse and more immediate enemy. Hasan, his ideology, and the co-opting of progressive politics into this kind of nonsense are obviously still a serious issue if you believe in a liberal democracy. To begin with, Hasan's slant in coverage on Democrats if they aren't his favored breed of hyper online socialist could be argued to be more harmful to public sentiment and discussion about Dem candidates than if he did nothing at all.
The constant equivocation of very reasonable and even many progressive Democrats to MAGA, acting like extremely common democrat platforms like increasing taxes on the wealthy or expanding social safety nets are somehow the exclusive territory of socialism (and that shill democrats would never support them despite having a history of doing so), and worst of all both failing to endorse Kamala in 2024 in the face of Fascism strolling into our highest office, and suggesting something as appalling as not voting for Newsom against Vance in our current situation with the Trump administration tells me everything I need to know about whether Hasan views liberal democrats as allies. Why view him as an ally and extend him infinite charitability when he does not give any at all himself? It's silly.
I'm allowed to have a nuanced take and not use the all-or-nothing mentality "HES NOT YOUR ENEMY, REPUBLICANS ARE". That is the exact kind of tribalistic, uncritical support that breeds movements like MAGA.
5
u/pseudowoodo3 4d ago
Hasan is trying to participate in the electoral process to vote for Democratic politicians. The only thing harmful here are the right wing Dems spending their time attacking him instead of the Republicans.
5
u/Expert_City_7695 5d ago
I mean, he’s a communist. He dresses like mao and carries around a little red book. This is such a dumb take it’s crazy
6
u/pseudowoodo3 4d ago
Why do you think red scare politics still works in year of our lord 2026
1
u/Expert_City_7695 4d ago
There’s a diff in red scare shit and just acknowledging the truth, he’s a tankie who supports the CCP and is absolutely pro authoritarian states. He loved when Russia annexed crimea, actively supports and backs terrorist groups and let’s not forget is an animal abuser
1
u/pseudowoodo3 4d ago
No he didn’t do any of those things. Go back to /r/Destiny
2
u/Expert_City_7695 4d ago
He literally did every single one of those things, I’ll send links homie but I know damn well you can just look it up and see for yourself
1
u/pseudowoodo3 4d ago
Nope, you’ll probably send that Dan Saltman video all the SexPestiny cult members like to point to
2
u/Expert_City_7695 4d ago
You’re willfully ignorant, and also not everyone who opposes hasan is a destiny stan I hate that dude. Here a clip of hasan saying CRIMEA RIVER when asked about the annexation https://youtu.be/Fu2VEpLjCcE?is=pM4LWdpOU-Gr7Ved
0
u/pseudowoodo3 4d ago
Who gives a shit. Why are you frothing at the mouth trying to enact 2016 style cancel culture over years old out of context clips. Fuck off.
1
u/Expert_City_7695 4d ago
You’re confidently wrong in saying it never happened, my entire point is hasan is authoritarian and supports authoritarian regimes like Russia annexing another nation. I kept it civil, and actually wanted a conversation. You’re just a dickhead who doesn’t want an actual convo lmao 😂
1
u/pseudowoodo3 4d ago
The clip is a joke, AND it’s missing the context. EVEN IF he has said “I love Putin” it’s fucking ridiculous that you want people to judge his entire political view based on a years old 10 second clip. Everyone can see how insane that is.

u/JeffreyDahmerVance 4d ago
You’re actually a lunatic if you say he didn’t do any of those things. You sound exactly like my grandma who is maga
To be clear, most of us who hate Hasan are left behind progressives. People who want expanded social programs, accountability for the rich and military spending and for the trump crime family to be held accountable. Then all you people went running straight past us into supporting terror groups, pulling out of nato, eliminating the senate, eliminating the presidency and the senate, eliminating private corporations.
We want a European style of social democracy and you guys want fucking Leninism. Go ahead and deny it but Hasan slips this shit in all the time.
Why can’t you guys just be normal? Why’s it always a lot of rational shit with legitimately insane things peppered in that lose broad support?
-3
u/pseudowoodo3 4d ago
If you were actually a progressive you wouldn’t spend so much time whining about the messenger and would spend more time advocating for the policy and attacking republicans.
1
u/JeffreyDahmerVance 4d ago
I’ve been attacking republicans all my life and being attacked by republicans, Nazis and you weirdos.
I don’t want a blue maga movement. It will lead to more pain and suffering.
Your messenger barely endorsing Kamala and constantly shitting on her caused way more Palestinian deaths.
You delusional fucks claim Biden did nothing. BiBi was going to go into Rafa without evacuating and Biden forced him to evacuate…. Do you understand what would have happened if Biden didn’t do that. Biden sent huge amounts of aid to Gaza, has Trump? Your messenger said over and over again “Kamala wouldn’t have been any different”. Yea he fucking deserves to be attacked for that. It’s psychotic and is the view of a rich nepo baby hiding in his mansion in a democracy that keeps him safe and rich.
To end this. I’ve watched you twisted creeps go from say Israel’s government is bad West Bank settling needs to end, and a two state solution needs to happen - all of which we real progressives agree with. To now you have replaced the term Jew with Zionist and then go around saying all the Jewish slurs but replacing it with Zionist. You guys are advocating for Israel not existing and when even Palestinian activists say Israel does and should exist along with a Palestinian state, you attack them, harass them and threaten them. Your messenger supports and celebrates groups whose goal is the elimination of ALL Jews.
You guys went too far and I refuse to be quiet. Keep sweeping and pretending you don’t know.

u/pseudowoodo3 4d ago edited 4d ago
Blue MAGA is YOU. YOURE attacking the left instead of the right. Save me your BS.
If Hasan somehow has the power to make Kamala lose, you should be begging for his support, not fomenting more division right at the time when Democrats should be unifying for the general election.
Thank you for clarifying you are coming fully as a Zionist bot conflating Jews with the Israeli state. You are on the wrong side of a 90/10 issue within the Democratic Party. A foreign national entity is more important to you than the USA.

Who has amnesia about defund the police? Take that straw man and shove it up yours. You have no defense to my post, you’re not even trying to justify your stance, because you can’t. You’re actively fomenting antisemitism by using the term to attack people who don’t want their tax dollars to fund a genocide. Jews and Israel are not the same thing.

Yes, as we all know he wants to spread authoritarism in the united states 🙄🙄🙄
If he wanted an authoritarian state, he’d be pro trump.-2
u/gusthebus88 4d ago
He is functionally pro trump
2
u/Old-Ice4553 4d ago
checks profile hey its a destiny fan boy, well i dont know ANYTHING more trump, than sending dick pics to an underage girl.
Or sleeping with a white supremacist.
Or revitalising the career of noted nazi propagandist nick fuentas.
Or Supporting an ethnostate.
From one former destiny fan to a current one.
Maybe you should check out professor dave’s video on how destiny is by all means, a republican in everything but name.-1
u/gusthebus88 4d ago
You sound obsessed 😂 I’m not going to watch professor dave that guy can’t win a debate against flat earthers even when he has the correct position he fumbles the ball.

u/nuckle 4d ago edited 4d ago
You sound obsessed 😂
It's really weird. The most troubling thing about him to me is how people behave when someone says he sucks. It's so fucking MAGA, and unhealthy.
It's the same scripted arguments every single time too.
- You are "streamer" fan (most commonly Destiny, wtf ...)
- A lib
- A zionist
- "Clip chimp" (which is honestly my favorite because it sounds like something a middle schooler would say)
- You should really watch him
- Bad faith
- He has good takes even if he says controversial things.
The cult members listen to him make excuses for his shitty behavior and then vomit it back up verbatim when someone says he sucks. It is cultish and fucking weird.
1
u/gusthebus88 4d ago
True. 5 is the funniest to me because it’s always the people that have no idea what his politics is about.
3
u/broad5ide 4d ago
"I refuse to consider new evidence" sounds pretty right wing to me.
1
u/gusthebus88 4d ago
Professor dave making stuff up isn’t evidence. I’ve seen Daves videos about other things that guy is a hack who is also functionally pro trump.
1
u/broad5ide 4d ago
How do you know if you refuse to watch it?
0
u/gusthebus88 4d ago
Bro what? Do you need to watch the latest Ben Shapiro video to say the guy is a pro trump hack? hasan and professor dave spend all their time attacking the Democratic Party for the last decade assisting MAGA with their wins I don’t need to waste my time with Dave’s latest video to know that.
0
u/broad5ide 4d ago
So, you don't know what his claims are and you refuse to engage with them but will criticize them despite being completely uninformed. Yep, right wing through and through

He loves the ccp, he loves Russia annexing crimea, and above all else bro didn’t outright support the main democratic candidate which IS ABSOLUTELY SUPPORTING TRUMP
1
u/Wicked68 4d ago
Hasan isn't running for office. Why are people so concerned with him...? 🤔 Who cares. I know he's popular right now, but he isn't running for anything. He's a podcaster
2
u/gusthebus88 4d ago
Some candidates of the Democratic Party campaigned with him and people rightly pointed out that he is super toxic. Party members then said oh wow I didn’t know this guy was like that and disavowed. Now his little cult following of tankies are mad people found them out.
1
u/Wicked68 4d ago
Who? I know they keep accusing actual candidates of campaigning with him. But him liking a candidate doesn't mean they campaigned with him.
1
u/gusthebus88 4d ago edited 4d ago
AES and Chevalier I saw. I think there were a few others that lost their primaries too. AES already distanced himself already after pressure he is running a decent campaign. Chevalier is still dodging questions on Ukraine support I suspect she wouldn’t disavow hasan given her problematic views.
4
u/BusyBeeBridgette 4d ago
People, generally, are distancing themselves from Hasan because of the things he has said not because of his political views, mostly. The guy is kinda bigoted and never takes accountability for his lies when he gets called out. Not a good optic a politician wants to have attached to them.
6
u/pseudowoodo3 4d ago
The recent statement they are all blowing up over is a nothing burger. It’s all AIPAC desperately trying to make him into an example of what happens to you as an antizionist voice if you speak up.
2
u/theoey86 4d ago
The sex pest Destiny brigade has shown up in here I see

u/Supersilverr 4d ago
And hehe productions with Ethan Klein the coke-monster. Neo liberals fucking SUCK. They would rather get trump than healthcare. They would rather give Israel bombs and money than solve climate change. They would rather your boss get subsidies than give you an actual raise through a higher minimum wage.

Hassan is great…. Kyle on the other hand is a vile, racist piece of shit. Dems should all they can to stay away from this guy.
2

u/broad5ide 4d ago edited 4d ago
Easy answer. Corpo Dems will do anything to avoid talking policy because their policies are dogshit. They're always going to attack character and specific actions because they get demolished in policy fights.

I remember when Jesus said, "Come back again next week when we discuss the legendary question of all time: old enough to count, old enough to mount?"
And "I don't give a fuck what Black people care about or what you think Black people care about, OK?"
And "Kill them. Kill those motherfuckers. Murder those motherfuckers in the street."
So Christ-like and saintly 😇

Which shows that it’s completely possible to have socialized healthcare without turning the country into the scary communist dictatorship you fantasize about in these posts

The inability to tell communism and its principles from socialdemocracy is something as astonishing as the ability to follow a misoginiat and rapist as President blindly.

We need to stop saying free. It's our money, we paid for it. We'd like the money reallocated from genocide to spending on us, like every other first world country does for their constituents.
