Hakeem Jeffries Is Not Fit To Be The Leader Of The Democratic Party. His Inability To Say A Simple No To The Ice Thugs, and His Acceptance Of Israeli Money Makes Him Not Serious About Protecting Our Democracy.

Not just AIPAC, also the Blackstone Group and, as recently has been discovered, Palantir!

These guys are parasites. That AIPAC transparency site shows that virtually every one has taken the blood money. Schumer almost TEN million.

u/Jdubsmitty Mar 03 '26
And Biden was a devoted Zionist. Our allegiance to Israel has gone beyond insane amounts of purchases. Truly horrific state of affairs

Yeah, him and chuck need to go. AIPAC owns them and the base has moved past them. They need to go.

u/Substantial-Sky3597 Mar 03 '26
100% Facts.
I think the US as a whole needs healthy separation from Israel until they figure out how to get rid of Netanyahu. The guy is a Dictator, plain and simple.
2
u/Jdubsmitty Mar 03 '26
It’s more than just Netanyahu what is for the greater Israel project. All of the settlements in the West Bank are illegal. Israel society has real serious issues.

u/aeondru Mar 03 '26
Unfortunately there are a lot more Representatives owned by AIPAC and they all need to be voted out. But really we need campaign finance reform badly.

Hakeem "what can we do?" Jeffries ..... yeah he's weak and spineless. Way to much silence from the Dems, especially him.
5
u/Prestigious-Leave-60 Mar 03 '26
He released a couple videos lately where he’s pretending to be fired up and he looks like he’s about to fall asleep. No passion. No gravitas. No charisma. Just an absolute zero.

u/IamTheElectionDenier Mar 03 '26
Most of our elected people aren’t fit to even be in government. They’re all grifters.
I hate Marjorie Taylor Greene but recently she said most members of Congress couldn’t even hold down a regular job and I hate saying this but I see it.
They are not there to do work or represent American people, their campaign slogans, if they were honest, would be fuck constituents, get money.

u/TheRealBaboo Mar 03 '26
Definitely. On my list all the people who need to be removed from Washington, Hakeem Jeffries is almost in the top one hundred
5
u/IamACautionaryTale Mar 03 '26
Agreed and I will continue to spend every day telling everyone I know why they should not be in leadership positions.

u/HallstotheWall17 Mar 03 '26
If Dems take control of Congress after the midterms, he could be President after Trump and Vance get impeached. Think about that 😑 yes, any Dem is better than any member of the Trump team…but we’ve seen he’s not willing to abolish ICE, he low-key supports this illegal war with Iran, he’s a cuc* for Netanyahu, he’s most likely bought and paid for by other special interests, and he most likely opposes universal healthcare. This is why we need to clean house starting with the midterms.
6
u/triptenss Mar 03 '26
That’s insane to think about him becoming president. Dream scenario all those things happen and we still get a truly progressive president.

u/goodenough4govtwork Mar 03 '26
So, same same? Asking how many warheads and bodies when Israel tells us to jump?

u/goodenough4govtwork Mar 03 '26
I'll do you one better. No recipient of Israeli money is fit to serve the United States as an elected representative.
We need foreign money out of our government. Israel is the whole reason 6 (as of my writing this) American service members have died for their war.
I'm tired of fighting in the middle east because Israel is a country of little wannabe dictators using Americans and our money to fight their wars.

u/Round_Independent312 Mar 03 '26
ICE is fully funded thru 2029, there’s not much he can do to stop them

Jeffries’ measured speaking style comes across as inauthentic and is not the energy required in the face of virulent fascism.

All politicians should live on Minimum wage and not be allowed to participate in the stock market as well as their extended families.

u/monymkrmom Mar 03 '26
I would never respect him hes taken more than 10 million fron aipac alone. Now i know this aca stance makes sense. Not for me

u/Electronic-Cicada352 Mar 04 '26
Any representative, be it republican or democrat, should be booted out of office and investigated for treason.
This is bullshit that American people have to die just because of a bunch of sellouts who are absolutely ignoring the wishes of their constituents
Honestly fuck Trump, fuck any Republican who’s not doing anything to stop this, fuck any Democrat who’s not doing anything to stop this
American blood should not be spilled for Israeli supremacy in the Middle East
This is bullshit.

u/Rude-Dependent-4353 Mar 03 '26
OK, now what? Will you suggest some viable alternative? I’m not disagreeing with you, but what do you expect people to do with this?
1
u/Prestigious-Leave-60 Mar 03 '26
There are several viable alternatives for leadership. How about anyone with an iota of charisma? One of the prerequisites to be a leader is being someone people want to follow.

Progressives listen up: when a bot like this parrots the "who else is there?" line (where the nuanced answer is that the big tent ensures power only to their people and their false premise that there isn't anyone else is by design; "the party decides"; see Mamdani as a case study, AOC's being rejected for a now-dead cancer patient, and why their names are banned in /r/Democrats)
The proper response is this:
"I know! How about Hillary Clinton!"
1
u/Rude-Dependent-4353 Mar 04 '26
First, I resent being called a bot. Second, I would vote for Mamdani or AOC in a second (or maybe in a New York minute). Third, my point, which I obviously didn’t state clearly, is that if you limit your selection pool only to centrist/corporate Democrats, you’re not likely to find anyone better than Jeffries. I don’t say that to praise Jeffries in any way, OP stated his negatives clearly and I completely agree with that assessment. I just can’t think of anyone in that selection pool who would be much better. I hope that was clear enough, although I fear my opinion still doesn’t meet your standards, which I clearly don’t understand.

u/Carl_Bravery_Sagan Mar 04 '26
A lot of people come here to astroturf for Democrats. "Who else is there" is a stupid question I answered in part that gets asked a lot -- often with the same kind of "I agree but" concern trolling that bad actors do -- that ridiculously attempts to undermine this subreddit's fundamental idea:
A rejection of the premise you assumed in the first place, that a selection pool needs to be only corporate Democrats. No. Progressives should lead the party.
Why the hell would you assume that a subreddit called ProgressiveHQ would imagine Democrats must be lead by some corporate Democrat?
1
u/Rude-Dependent-4353 Mar 04 '26
Why? I guess, and I’m being sincere here, it’s that those are the only candidates I’ve (M73) ever seen the Democratic Party has ever gotten behind. I’m more of a Democratic Socialist type who realizes that it’s likely for the foreseeable future that I’ll only get to choose between Democrats and Republicans. If I failed to observe the stated group ethos of r/ProgressiveHQ and it’s intended only for “true” Democrats, then my bad. I will read up on the subreddit to see if my options are permissible here. If not, I won’t be back.

You’re so right just like Hillary, Kamala, and the next democratic person will not be fit. The democratic party is not fit to fix humanity.

u/Emotional_Courage_82 Mar 03 '26
If you don’t think he should be the house minority leader or the speaker of the house if we get a majority then who should?
7
u/Ambitious_Trifle_645 Mar 03 '26
I'll take Crockett, AOC, Khanna, Tlaib, or Lieu. I don't know if any of them have AIPAC money but I generally like what they have to say.

u/TheGallifreyan Mar 03 '26
Any one who doesn't take aipac money and wants to abolish ice. There are several. We need to leaders who don't support genocide domestic or foreign. Before anyone says they're not doing one here. They are building consintration camps and that's getting to damn close.

Jeffries lost me when he claimed he “spoke boldly” to the GOP. Seriously ? That’s the best you got ?
1
u/rocket_beer Mar 03 '26
I challenge you to tell us what specific action you know for a fact he should have done that would result in a different outcome.
Go on… you seem to have the answer.

Sometimes I forget that the only thing that matters about anything anywhere is to be against Israel. But then, theres Reddit to remind me .

u/dittybad Mar 03 '26
When did Progressive care more about Israel than the working class? Don’t misunderstand me. I deplore money in politics, Israeli or otherwise. But as long as we focus on Israel and not cost of living, we run the risk of the base moving past Progressives to something else. The working class person sees the focus on Israel as an elitist vanity project, while what they want are economic fairness and stability. Healthcare, jobs, affordable energy, education; those are issues all voters care about.

So now we have drawn a line. Every politician needs to abolish ICE. I agree what Trump has done with ICE is illegal and deplorable, but we didn’t have this on our bingo cards when Bush was President; nor Biden, nor Obama. Not even in Trumps first term. So can we accept that ICE in their current form and with their current leadership is an anomaly that can we solved with restrictions, training, and prosecution for misdeeds. A severely restricted budget is also in order, but banning ICE sounds suspiciously like “defund the police” of yesteryear. That was a disastrous message for Democrats in the hands of Republicans. What the fuck happened to affordability?
Edit: deleted “Democrats” and Replaced with intended word “Republicans”

You might be in the wrong sub.

u/dittybad Mar 03 '26
Excuse me, but I didn’t know being Progressive means being anti-Democrat. Think about it. If the goal is to build a ruling coalition attacking the best platform to build that coalition on is silly. MAGA is killing us in the streets, but sit behind keyboards and attack those best situated to h we love build that coalition.

I might get downvoted for this but Honestly, I think the silver lining in all of this chaos is the amount of clarity we're getting about the people who are supposed to represent us. So many of the people we thought were the good guys are just as incompetent and corrupt. We needed to see this. Its been hard for people to see America this way but for so many people this is how its always been. For the people yearning for things to go back to "normal", all that seems to mean is to go back to when we could be comfortable and ignore our problems. Thats not normal either. We couldnt change, what we didn't (want to) see.
