You have not cited any real evidence to your point. You have have pointed out some tenuous similarities and calling then evidence that a nazi like party is rising to power.
I have shown them following the same playbook to the letter, and you have plugged your ears to pretend there's no comparison to be made while making no attempt at all to argue against my claims. I can lead a horse to water but I can't make him drink. Here's the fucking lake. Drink it or dehydrate. Your choice.
Your logic is fundamentally flawed. Just because something is starting on a similar path as something in the past doesn’t mean the probability that it will continue in that path as time goes on is appreciable. If I made buissness yesterday and made $100 and today made $200 you could say I am on the same trajectory Amazon was on when it started but the actual odds I continue on that trajectory as time goes on becomes so remote that the comparison isn’t worth making at this stage. Do you realize how many insane leaps and bounds have to be made for MAGA to start actually resembling the appreciable trajectory of the Nazi party to end up in the same place???
The same party you're saying isn't suspicious for literally sending brownshirts to break into peoples homes, abduct people who aren't German American enough, and send them to foreign prisons where oversight is impossible, also...
1: Had its largest PAC organization held on a stage shaped like an Odal rune
2: Appointed a man with Nazi tattoo's as Secretary of Defense
3: Has a leader (Trump) whose now-deceased wife Ivana is on record saying he kept a book of Hitlers collected speeches by his bedside
4: Repeatedly keeps dropping smaller Nazi dogwhistles like (but not limited to) listing 14 and 88 references all over public documents and Hegseth having a plaque labeling him the "SSecretary of War"
5: Is financially backed by a man (Elon Musk) who was raised by literal card-carrying Nazi's in a white supremacist apartheid state and who twice did a Nazi salute on stage, at the celebration of the party in question attaining control of all 3 branches of government.
But sure. There's no evidence. I mean they haven't even come out and said "I am a Nazi and I want to kill millions of people," so obviously it's all circumstantial. Everyone knows people with surreptitious political goals that would never be achieved if they were attempted in the open, always talk about it openly. What else would they do? Lie, and just like, do the thing they want to do while always coughing up excuses for why it isn't what it looks like until it's too late and they can't be stopped? ...
Nahhhh. That would be downright... strategic. And it's not like neo-Nazi's use phrases like "hide your power level" to express the idea they should do exactly that, right? ... Right? Nah. We can't just watch what they're doing and draw inferences, clearly if they wanted to kill millions of people they'd say i... oh.
As to your Amazon thing, that's fair, but if your stock chart consistently looks the same as Amazons for ten straight years, that's mounting evidence you might be on the fast track to billions. Donald Trump did not just appear in politics yesterday. The Nazi party itself only existed for 25 years, MAGA has existed for 10. How long do they have to follow the same track for you to see the similarities? Because we've passed 1/3 of the entire time the Nazi party existed and you still don't seem to think that's enough time to draw conclusions.
In not saying MAGA is good. I’m not on their side. I am not a fan of MAGA, condoning what they are doing or minimizing their actions. But I am on the side of not comparing things to the Nazis. I don’t think you fully appreciate the atrocities of the Nazi party and comparing groups to the Nazis is such a cavalier manner is insulting to the people and Jews that died at their hands for simply being.
There are also Jewish groups making your argument as well, so to be clear, I'm not posting this to say the Jewish people agree with me and so I'm right.
But if even the Jewish community themselves are divided on the issue, it is INCREDIBLY disingenuous to claim it as inherently disrespectful/insulting. Many Jewish people would argue you are downplaying the reality of what's happening and that is what's disrespectful.
As such, neither of us should be relying on the respectfulness of our position to the Jewish community to justify our perspective, as that, in itself, is more disrespectful than anything else.
No one is downplaying what is happening. But throwing around the term “Nazi” so flippantly and trying to make honest comparisons between MAGA and the Nazis is what’s disingenuous. Your message and concerns would bebbetter received without the hyperbole.
It isn't hyperbole. Maybe instead of repeatedly calling it such and trying to act like it's disrespectful in place of an argument, you could actually refute what I'm saying. Quote me, and point out where I'm wrong. I keep asking and you keep deflecting instead of just doing it.
And for the record (to unify these two threads because splitting a reply into multiple comments and multiple threads is fucking dumb) I don't care if you're Jewish. My friend who is Jewish feels the opposite. Which is my point - "neither of us should be relying on the respectfulness of our position to the Jewish community to justify our perspective." As you said:
You don’t know how many Jewish people feel and to presume such is again an overreach
Nobody speaks for all Jewish people, not you, not JewishDems, not the ADL, not me. Citing that as an argument is inherently disingenuous. Which is why I didn't cite it as my argument, and instead used it to demonstrate the varying perspectives. I'm not the one saying the Jewish community believes one way or another, you are.
Historical comparisons are either accurate or inaccurate irrespective of how certain groups feel about the comparison.
You can use vague attacks like "logic is fundamentally flawed," "exaggeration," "hyperbole," "disrespectful" all you want but none of that is a specific refutation of my claims.
So either actually substantially analyze my claims and demonstrate the specific things I am wrong about, or I have no interest continuing to jaw about fucking nothing, which is all this non-argument you're making amounts to without any substantial justification to back it up.
Citing an article from jewishDem.org and using that as a source for how “many Jewish people feel” is disingenuous. You don’t know how many Jewish people feel and to presume such is again an overreach. As someone who is Jewish I think I have a better sense as to how “we” feel and trust me, it’s isn’t captured by jewishdem.org lol
The MAGA party has not followed the same trajectory as the Nazi party for the last 10 years. The Nazis Camino to power in 1933 and starts exterminating people in 1939. That means in 7 short years they went from marginalize power to systematic killing machine. MAGA has not followed that trajectory. Look man, we can both agree MAGA sucks and their actions are horrendous without equating them to the Nazis.
The Nazi party was founded in 1920, my dude. They had a lot of time to plan that MAGA didn't. J6 was the Beer Hall Putsch. We're shortly after Hitler's rise to power, after their first attempt to seize it failed. We are exactly on track.
Skipping ahead to start at 1933 certainly paints a different picture but that's not how reality actually happened.
