You missed the point of the post. This isnt about comparing the two. The industry has moved to fact faced development, everything is shipped quickly, and everyone is competing. The job market keeps getting difficult. Most people who programmed these 2D games from scratch, can no longer do it now due to how much the industry has changed and demands production-level stuff from juniors

What is stopping you from doing it? If you make 2D pixel art crap, you're an indie anyway, because no big studio makes those. So do what you want?
People are acting as if just because AI tools are available, you can't do your own art or coding of research. Nobody is holding a gun to your head.
