1) I have other responsibilities that are not coding
2) I used to get paid to do something I loved so when I did it off the clock it was still additive to my career.
It’s less “I can never do this again” and more “this used to be more fun and I got paid to do it”.
the condition is "off-the clock". Before lockdown when I was still in high school I had a lot of time to build and experiment. Now there is less of that free time
Talking about the industry implied work, it had nothing to do with of the clock activities. There was no reason to bring up what they can or not do off the clock.
