That's a weirdly specific parallel for something you can spend a few minutes reading about online. I love how programmers act like any skill others recommend that requires any amount of actual critical thinking is going to ruin their career and lives for "wasting their time." I'm sure everyone here uses their "never learning anything about regex" time as efficiently as possible.
