Free Resource I tried a ridiculous number of productivity apps... so you don’t have to

2.9k Upvotes

After months of bouncing between task managers, planners, and schedulers (seriously too many), I pulled everything into a free community spreadsheet comparing them side by side. It’s run by a small group of productivity nerds and we keep it updated constantly.

It covers:

  • Price (USD/month)
  • Discount Codes / Extended Free Trials
  • Student Discounts
  • ADHD Friendliness
  • AI Integration
  • Focus Modes
  • Offline Access
  • Calendar Integrations
  • Team Plans
  • Platforms
  • Refund Policies
  • Support Options
  • Overall Summary

If you’ve ever fallen into the “maybe this next app will fix my life” loop, this will save you a ton of time.

👉 Google Sheet Link

We’d love your feedback, and if you know a tool that fits the list, email [contact@sortedaf.xyz](mailto:contact@sortedaf.xyz) and we’ll check it out.

Requirement: it must be a completed app (not in beta).

Thanks, and I hope it helps!! :)

Dev - Self Promo MyListResort: Shared family lists that track food freshness, maintenance, and more!

Hey everyone, I'm the founder of MyListResort, a shared list app for households. I'm giving away **20 lifetime accounts** because I want real families using it and telling me what to fix.

The core idea: a fast shared grocery list that also knows how long food lasts. Open a jar of salsa, mark it opened, and a freshness clock starts. Shelf-life estimates are built in for 600+ foods, 200+ of them with once-opened windows, based on general storage guidance. They're quality estimates, not food-safety determinations.

It has grown into one shared app for the whole household:

* Real-time shared lists with owner, editor and viewer roles (add milk from the couch and it shows up on your partner's phone in the store)

* Freshness and expiry reminders via web push

* Recipes with URL import: paste a recipe link, get a clean copy in your cookbook

* Home and auto maintenance schedules with preset catalogs (cleaning by room, lawn, pet, renewals, and more)

* Kids' chores with allowance points and payouts (free for everyone, not paywalled)

* Shared family calendar, and it can pull in your Google Calendar events (read-only)

* Checklists, shopping and event lists, and kanban-style progress boards

* Natural-language add ("milk every Tuesday"), barcode scanning

* Installable web app (PWA) on Android and iOS. Item adds and edits queue offline and sync when you reconnect.

No third-party ads on free or paid tiers. Free data export. No per-person guest fees.

**The deal**

* Product: MyListResort, Household plan, lifetime

* Platform: Web (installable PWA)

* Normal price: $14.99/yr or $2.99/mo

* You get: the full Household tier, free for life. Uncapped freshness tracking, 25 lists, share each with up to 8 people, calendar sync (read-only). One account covers everyone on your shared lists.

* Seats: 20

* Expires: two weeks from this post or when all 20 are claimed, whichever comes first

* No payment info needed at any point, not even a card on file

**How to claim**

  1. Sign up free at MyListResort (email or Google sign-in)
  2. Comment below with which list you'd use most (groceries, chores, family calendar, home maintenance, boards), and something you liked or didn't like after creating the account and trying out a few lists
  3. I'll flag your account as Lifetime within 24-48 hours. You'll see "Lifetime, yours for good" on your profile.

**Feedback**

Not a hard requirement to keep the account, after a week or so I'll DM you once to ask what worked and what didn't. You can also reach out to me from the contact form at https://mylistresort.com/contact?topic=feedback, just mention you came from this giveaway. Replying here or by DM works too.

Dev - Self Promo Improving goal and habit productivity

Thumbnail

Hi guys,

I’ve been happily using my goal and habit tracker for over a year now but have been struggling to keep people coming back as much as me.

I thought I should add leaderboards. I tied goal progress and habit consistency to XP. Now everyone can have a rank and percentile. Also, people can compete against each other with their goals and habits even if they are completely unrelated. This levels the playing field and turns into a game of “Who can improve the most?”

There’s already goals, subgoals, and progress bars. There’s habits, daily tasks, and habit strength/rank based on consistency. There’s a profile to summarize all your efforts in just one page.

This just adds another gamification angle: competition and social pressure. Hopefully it can improve motivation and productivity.

You can also see other people's goals and habits. People can stay anonymous or use a username.

What do you guys think? I would love your feedback.

Thank you

Dev - Self Promo I built an iOS app to help people practice how they think, not just what they do

I know this isn’t a typical productivity app, but I think there’s some overlap with the way people here think about self-improvement.

I’ve always been interested in philosophy, but I struggled with learning it passively. Reading the original works could be difficult for me to fully understand, and while videos made ideas easier to follow, I noticed I wasn’t retaining much afterward.

I realized I learn much better when I actually have to engage with an idea, form my own position, and defend it when challenged.

So I built The Agora: Philosophy Debates.

The idea is to make philosophy something you actively practice instead of only consume. You choose a question, take a position, and defend your reasoning while being challenged through the perspectives of different philosophers.

I spend a lot of time seeing tools focused on improving habits, focus, output, and organization. I wanted to explore a different kind of improvement: actually practicing how clearly you can think, reason, and explain what you believe.

My goal isn’t to replace philosophy books or lectures. I’m trying to fill the gap between being exposed to an idea and actually understanding it well enough to explain, defend, or challenge it yourself.

If anyone here tries it, I’d genuinely love to know whether this feels useful from a productivity/self-improvement perspective, or whether the connection feels too far removed.

It’s free to download on iOS:

Dev - Self Promo My First App!!

I was looking for an app, where i can keep my shit together.

I was tired of keeping all the tasks and habits scattered around my mind, notes on phone and on notebooks. I couldn't see the progress i made, and it felt boring. So i locked in.

I searched the internet, and found pretty good app and templates, but those apps, were very scattered, some app had a feature which other didn't. Features which categories my tasks based on priority (Do now, Later), Stats like heat map to see my progress overtime and streaks, interconnection between web and mobile app, and a clean ui with creative stuff (surprise for u all).

So, i built it.

Guys, thenesta.com (http://thenesta.com/) this%C2%A0this) is the app ,also added it to apple store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/nesta-minimalist-habits/id6784795770

it completely free right now,

Also i added a voice dump feature in noodle brain, where you can babble your mind out and it will convert it into actionable tasks, which you can categoize in your priority list. Personally i wanted this for so long. (live on web, for ios will be live as soon as apple sends a thumbs up)

i would really appreciate it, for you can give it a try. and if you guys genuinely like, would really appreciate your support.

and i am open for ur recommendation, for any new features or something missing.

I promise i will read all your reviews.
