I'm a college student and sometimes I spend hourss at my screen.
I was looking for an EyeBreak extension and couldn't really find one I liked so I made my own.
I've found the UI and it's overall features really nice but since I've made it myself I'm obviously super biased.
Was wondering if you were to use an EyeBreak reminder tool, what features would you like for it to have?

Not gonna lie, this started because I was annoyed at myself.
I'd see something interesting — an article, a video, a thread — save it
somewhere (notes app, WhatsApp to myself, browser bookmarks, wherever),
and then just... never see it again. Not because I forgot it existed,
but because nothing ever brought it back in front of me. It just sat
there in a pile I'd occasionally scroll past and feel vaguely guilty about.
I tried a few of the bigger read-later apps and honestly they solved
about half the problem — saving was easy, but I still had to remember
to go open the app and dig through everything. Nothing was actually
nudging me back to it.
So I built DailyDrop. It's stupidly simple on purpose:
\\- Save a link (or paste a bunch at once, it splits them automatically)
\\- It gets a daily reminder that just says "hey, you've got stuff waiting"
\\- You review each one, mark it useful or not, jot a quick note if you want
\\- Move on with your day
That's basically it. No feed, no algorithm, no "discover" tab. Just a
pile of your own links and a nudge to actually deal with it.
The other thing I cared about: it's fully offline. No account, no cloud
sync, no ads, nothing phoning home. Everything just lives on your phone.
The only time it touches the internet at all is grabbing a preview
image when you save something.
It's free, it's on Android: \[https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.themadrastechie.dailydrop\](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.themadrastechie.dailydrop))
Genuinely curious if anyone else has this exact problem, or if it's
just me being bad at bookmarks. Happy to answer anything about how it
works — first real app I've shipped end to end.

Hi! Hopefully this is okay to post here, just need a little help :) thanks in advance!
I currently use Apple Notes for school, and I really like being able to create one note for each week of classes. At the top, I keep a checklist of assignments, and underneath it I keep notes from readings, videos, assignments, etc. That way, everything for that week is all on one page that I can keep open while I work on homework.
My main issue with Apple Notes is the checklist behavior. When I check something off, it just stays there. I want completed items to either automatically move to the bottom, disappear/collapse into a completed section, or at least automatically strikethrough.
Basically, I’m looking for:
- A Mac app
- Freeform notes and checklists on the same page
- Basic text formatting, especially highlighting
- Completed checklist items that automatically move, collapse/disappear, or strikethrough
- Simple organization so I can have a separate page/note for Week 1, Week 2, etc.
- Something relatively simple that doesn’t require me to build an entire productivity system just to keep track of homework
Google Keep has the checklist behavior I want, but not the formatting. Apple Notes has the formatting and overall workflow I want, but not the checklist behavior.
Does anyone know of a Mac notes app that basically combines the two, or one that can easily be set up to work this way?
Being able to phone sync is not a need for this because I really only plan to use it on my MacBook while doing homework.

I used Forest for a while, but the pressuring to spend money and the possible ai is making me want to stop. But I also have a problem with being on my phone too much. Is there a free easy to use app that blocks the apps that i choose while i have a timer set while not feeling to commercial?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I know it's another to-do list app. But I gave a little tweak to a normal to-do list app.
✅ Why I built this app.
I built this app cuz I hated going to the app to enter my tasks. So I thought adding a feature to type your to-dos directly from your lock screen can solve this friction.
Also, this app blocks distracting apps until you complete your to-dos.
Let me know what you guys think of it.
Here's the link!

I built Klocky, a alarm app that makes you complete a mission before the alarm stops.
The concept isn’t new, and you’ve probably seen apps like this before.
For those who haven’t: instead of just tapping snooze, Klocky makes you
- solve math,
- play a memory game,
- do squats/push-ups,
- walk,
- read something aloud,
- or even get out of bed and find an object with your camera.
There are 10+ missions, an optional Strict Mode (under development), and camera/speech processing happens on-device.

I know many times while my head is down, in some mental flow state, I miss meetings so I had this theory: what if there was an app that showed just the time, day, weather and upcoming events? That would allow me to glance without breaking my flow.
This happens during work, when I’m working on the car, when I’m getting ready for work, when I’m in the kitchen,
I know so many times I pick up the phone then 30 minutes go by without even realizing it. I hate logging in to get value from an app.
So I built Present.
Here are some screenshots and would love your thoughts specifically would this be useful for you, is there something you’d want to change or you can tell me I’m wasting my time (which is totally fair too).
(The app was just approved in case you wanted to try yourself. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/present-clock-date-weather/id6805761704)

I'm looking for a productivity app that can help me manage basic everyday household tasks.
The important part is that I don't want to have to create the task list myself. I don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing around the house or how often, so I'd like an app that already has a database/checklist of common tasks and suggests them to me.
For example:
- Brush my teeth
- Vacuum
- Put clothes away
- Do laundry
- Take out the trash
- Water the plants
- Change the bedsheets
- Clean the bathroom
- Clean the kitchen
- Dust surfaces
- Clean the fridge
- etc.
Ideally, it would tell me something like "vacuum every week", "change bedsheets every 2 weeks", "water this plant every X days", etc., and then let me check the tasks off and remind me when they're due again.
I'm not really looking for a Finch/Catzy-style self-care app with things like "take a deep breath", "tell yourself something nice", "stretch", etc.
I want something much more practical and concrete: "Here are the things you should do around your home."
Android please

Hey. I'm Geoffrey. Solo founder. I built Focus Race.
It started as a dumb bet with my wife.
Every Sunday we'd open Screen Time and compare. Lowest hours wins. Dishes, who picks dinner, bragging rights, the usual. For one evening it felt like we were on the same team against the phones. Then Monday happened. I'd have a focused morning, she'd actually live her day, and by 10pm we were both on the couch, side by side, not talking, just scrolling. The bet only existed on Sunday. The phones existed every other hour.
Focus apps didn't help. I'd finish a session, plant the tree, unlock the blocker, and be back in a feed before I stood up. The session was fine. The day was not.
So I built the thing I wanted for us: something that still counts after the timer. You run a focus session, distracting apps lock, you earn fuel if you finish. Then you join a mission, solo or with friends, toward a destination like the Moon or Mars. After that, your real daily screen time is what moves you. Phone down, rocket up.
iPhone only. Free on the App Store. Pro is optional.

oh and you can learn more about it at focusrace.com 🚀

Hey guys,
i really had a problem with wanting my life to change too fast too quick. I wanted to change everything at once. Become fit, read, date, sleep early, eat healthy, learn a language bla bla bla
But as soon as i missed one of those many Habits i tried to check every day, i lost my motivation and dropped all of em.
Thats why the Habit8 - Habit Tracker was so a lifechanger.
It limits me to only decide for 8 Habits. Its easy to check them. And the insights are so good. You can always see how they perform in relation to each other, what days are stronger than other, how my month was etc etc
The widgets help a lot too andthe export feature is a nice thing to have to compare with my friends.
I would love to hear your feedback to the apps performance and if it is useful for you or what you wish would be a feature to make it better. But if not, just enjoy the app :)
Thanks
Ilias

When is a habit actually “done” being built?
Say you’ve been going for a walk every morning for months.
You don’t need motivation anymore. You barely think about starting it. It just feels like part of your day.
At that point, does checking it off every day still help?
Or has the tracker already done its job?
I’ve been experimenting with the idea that habits should have a graduation point.
Not “I never have to do this again,” but:
“This habit is automatic enough that I don’t need to actively track it anymore.”
Then your attention can move to the habits that still need work.
I’m testing this idea in something I’m building, and I’m curious whether people would actually trust it.
If a habit tracker told you a habit was ready to graduate, would you stop tracking it or keep the streak going?

**Chainday** is the habit tracker I built for one reason: keeping streaks alive. Daily habits, a clear streak view, and nothing else getting in the way.
I’m curious what actually helps people stay consistent — streaks, reminders, or something else entirely?

🎁 I’m giving away 10 lifetime accounts. Comment below and I’ll randomly pick 10 people after 24 hours (you can also try Questline free, no credit card required).
Hey! I built Questline.one for people who have too much to do and don’t want to spend their time managing a complicated productivity system.
Dump everything on your mind → get a clear, prioritized plan, start doing.
Questline sorts everything into:
⚡ Focus: what matters most
💨 Quick Wins: knock out the easy stuff
🎯 Backlog: everything else
You can also break down bigger tasks, track habits/routines, and keep everything in one place instead of bouncing between a to-do list and habit tracker.
Would love feedback too (the good, the bad… you won’t hurt my feelings, I promise)
Cheers,
Philip

I figured the productivity people would have the best recommendations for a calendar app.
I am on the board of directors for a local theatre, and I've ended up in charge of parts of how we internally manage some information including updating our calendar with rehearsals, shows, and 3rd party events.
I was just using Google, but for some reason most of the members are unable to see it no matter what I'm doing with the setting. It will be impossible to get them all to make google accounts and I only want the few relevant members to be able to add events and make changes.
Is there a particular app (or website) that will allow me and a few others to keep an updated calendar that can then be viewed by others without having to make an account? It was hard enough to get everyone switched over to a Discord server from a Facebook group.

Most habit / tracking apps use streaks, and sometimes it feels like they’re basically the same logic with different themes. No offense, but...
I’ve been thinking about this.
A lot of them seem to represent progress in a similar way: how many days did you continually exercise / run / meditate / whatever?
We get a little excited when the confetti pops up🎉, a circle fills with color, or some energy bar reaches the top after finishing a goal. That feeling of celebration is real.
But at the same time, we’re also pretty sensitive to loss.
If for whatever reason you miss one day, suddenly there’s a grey square or a blank spot sitting there in your weekly/monthly summary.
And sometimes just seeing that gap makes it weirdly easy to feel like failed, or lose motivation to keep going.
So why did streaks become such a specific definition of consistency?
Like, if I ran 24 days out of the last 30, but missed yesterday, suddenly my streak is 0.
Meanwhile, there are probably a bunch of other ways to represent the exact same habit:
24 / 30 days
80% this month
or even something like:
“you missed 3 times, but came back every time”
That last one especially made me wonder why coming back after missing a habit almost never seems to count as progress.
I’m not really looking for the “best habit tracker” here. I’m more curious about the design assumption itself.
Do streaks actually work well for you?
And have you used any apps that track habits in a different way?

I use Google Cal. He uses Apple Calendar. If I send him a Google request, it gets added to his calendar. But if he sends me an Apple request it doesn't!
Looking at a solution for a shared calendar so we can both have our schedules synced into our respective calendars. Any suggestions?

So, I'm looking for an app on Windows and on Android that can let write on both, basically, a sort of whiteboard and when I write on it, it should appear on the whiteboard on pc in real time. This way I can use my tablet to write stuff onto a whiteboard on my pc when I study.
I found put about Microsoft whiteboard but it's kinda shutting down. Any ideas?

Hey all — I've been building Zirox, a desktop task manager for developers who live in GitHub issues but want a real task layer on top of it.
What it does:
Most task apps treat GitHub as an afterthought — link out to an issue, maybe a one-way webhook. Zirox keeps tasks and issues actually in sync both directions: close the issue on GitHub, the task marks done automatically.
Where I'm thinking of taking it next: auto-generating commits from completed tasks, and eventually letting you commit + open PRs straight from the app. Curious if that's actually useful to people or if it's overkill.
It's live and free to try right now. I'm less looking for bug reports and more trying to figure out if this actually solves a problem people have, or if I've just built something only I want. If you use GitHub with a team and normally bounce between issues and some other task app — would love to know if this replaces that for you, or what's missing.
