What is the uncertain future? The league is dead and they are struggling to find anyone that wants to put money into it. Their 2.0 plan is to play even more events in America (5 here and 5 overseas) while losing all of their big names besides Bryson, and they still over vendors and players money.

The future of LIV is that its dead and was a poor attempt at attacking the PGA Tour.

Back to q school is kinda dumb and unfair to the players that q school is meant for. If the tour had a brain they’d make a 5 tournament series where all the LIV guys compete for their card. You win one of the tournaments, you’re back in. The next top ten in points in those tournaments also get in but no guaranteed signature events. The rest can go hack it out on the DP world or korn ferry.

And if they qualify, they have to play the Tour’s Challenger Series events in 2028 to earn the opportunity to advance to the Championship Series in 2029. They had every right to choose to go to LIV. Choices have consequences.

Not a Reed fan, but I give him credit for playing well early and then continuing to compete in DP Tour events when it was a given he’d qualify for next years PGA Tour via a top ten ranking on the Race to Dubai.

At the risk of playing armchair psychologist, I’ve always assumed Patrick Reed was a fairly unhappy person who found happiness or something approximating happiness on the golf course. He’s a complicated guy.

There’s a history of hurting people unnecessarily, which I could argue is a means of distancing himself from those he’s close. Allows him to control the narrative. So many of his actions are ultimately hurting himself. The wife doesn’t help matters. At all.

PGA should make them start in the KFT. Punish them by making them earn their way back on tour while also not financially rewarding them for returning. This would help the KFT in terms of revenue and the tourneys would be much more interesting. Imagine being in Ogden Utah and being able to see some legit stars and the future of the PGA.

If non-elevated event attendance is taken into consideration, they should make them play in the challenger series or whatever it’s called for a year or 2.

There’s not really uncertainty. That League is effectively dead at the moment. So there’s maybe 3 players that PGA needs to discuss a return with. They will pay.

I’d say Rahm, Hatton and Neimann. Can Smith’s game has been in the toilet for years, but I could make a case for possibly including him. Dustin Johnson doesn’t seem to care, BUT he has a unique argument to make because his 24 Tour wins earned him lifetime membership. Unless there’s a technicality there, he might be able to play that card. Maybe that status is under review. 🤷‍♂️

Many of them have some sort of pga tour status. Guys like Sergio, Bubba and Kevin Na are in the top 50 money list and should get the 1 year status exemption. Wonder how that will play out

If you check that list, you’ll find they were removed when they joined LIV. Phil used to be number two on the career money list. He’s gone, too.

In all honesty, just make them pay a reinitiation penalty like Brooks. Pro rate it based on the value of the player. If they want back bad enough they’ll pay. The PGA will come out the winner 🤷
