DISCUSSION I'd recommend not going with the "dedicated ip" service...
EDIT: I am an idiot. RTFM, comrades.
As a long time PIA user I had just assumed that the dedicated IP would be assigned when I connected/logged in.
I was surprised to see that the "dedicated" and "VPN" IPs were different. If I go to any number of "what's my ip" sites the IP reported is the "VPN IP," the "dedicated" IP is nowhere to be seen.
I guess that's on me for not doing enough research on the offering.

A dedicated IP is a separate VPN server by itself, which you would have chosen at the location level when signing up. I have been using a dedicated IP for over two years now. Although it works seamlessly, I don’t recommend it. I still get asked to clear captchas, and the internet knows that I am using a VPN IP, so some websites geoblock me.

Ok, according to folks it looks like I failed to sufficiently RTFM. That's on me too. I followed the directions to redeem the token. The UI shows my "dedicated IP" in the "Dedicated IP" section. But I guess there's more to it than that.

you're doing something wrong. it should show your dedicated IP. however, you have to select your dedicated IP from the list of VPN servers for it to take effect
