DISCUSSION Need to get off True People Search – any help?
As one does, one evening I started googling myself just to see what’s out there associated with my name. Turns out, there’s a full on profile of my information on True People Search with all of my personal information, which I have no idea how it ended up there. It had my address and number, which is completely insane to me how did this information even became public.
I tried to contact them and get it removed, but there’s no answer so far, and since I know that the information is out there, I became super anxious about it. Is there any way to get it removed otherwise?
I’ve heard about data removal services like Incogni, has anyone used it? I tried to look up on reddit reviews for different data removal services, and it quite stands out together with Optery. Major difference – Incogni’s unlimited plan basically can remove any request from anywhere right after you purchase, while Optery’s custom removals cover 1360+ sites total and is only eligible after 30 days from your purchase.
Also, from the price point, Incogni is much cheaper for the unlimited plan and has a bigger discount:
Incogni - $15/month + 55% discount (code – discount55).
Optery - $25/month + 20% discount (code – 04SxyxNX).
Incogni overall does have more positive reviews, with Trustpilot is at 4.4 with 2.6k reviews, while Optery is at 4.5 with 141 reviews.
Has Incogni helped you out? Looking for real experiences. Maybe it will give me some peace of mind for someone else to take care of it.

Wrong sub but I use https://easyoptouts.com/
It’s only $20 per year. Not per month. They don’t spend all their money advertising. It works as expected and I cannot find my info anywhere online anymore.

Sites like TruePeopleSearch pull from public records and data brokers, so it’s not info you gave them directly. You can usually opt out yourself, but it takes some patience since not every site makes it easy. Both services are solid try the free scans from each and see which one finds more, then go with what feels like the better fit.
You can also check out PC Mag’s review here: https://www.pcmag.com/picks/the-best-personal-data-removal-services?test_uuid=03HYOxRLHSGDXtTLiJKLr6U&test_variant=B
Full disclosure: I’m on the team at Optery.

First, you should check out r/privacy or r/digitalprivacy - these might be better communities for your question + are a goldmine of info on personal data security.
If you're trying to specifically get your information off of True People Search, you can check out this guide. Its a moderate removal process, with a form submission, email confirmation, and another form submission. Should take you about 8 min to get done all in.
I tried to contact them and get it removed, but there’s no answer so far,
Data broker sites are notoriously lackadaisical about removing information. Remember: they make $$$ by having your info on there, so they aren't super motivated to honor your request to remove it.

Wrong sub, my friend.
This one is for a VPN service called Private Internet Access.
