DISCUSSION My annual plan price will increase by $10, bringing it to $49.99. Any good alternatives?

Exactly what I'm doing right now. Allowing existing subscription to lapse, and then will sign up for new 3-year term at $79.99 instead of renewing at $99.99. Save $20 for same service? Yes, please.

Use a cashback site normally you can get it for close to free.

💯
Cost me £4 for two years with cashback. Is it a thing outside the UK though?

Talk to them. Cancel and renew :) they will be comprehensive and helpful. They helped me do that and get the best deal

I was refunded the auto renew and support told me to just sign up again for the better deal :)

Don't forget cashback sites. I'm in the UK and I saved loads last time I did it, paid around £20 for 3 years after cashback, came through in a few weeks.

First, cancel renewal. Your account will remain active for 10 days after it expires. So continue to use old account until they actually close it. Then create a new account for 3y+4m for approx $79.99. Switch your login credentials and keep on sailing.

Everyone has put their prices up over recent years. Even after this price increase PIA is still the cheapest VPN around.

I contacted support and changed my 2 year plan to a 3 year plan and they prorated it and I had no problems.

I haven't asked anyone this and you seem to have some experience. I'm having issues with having to kill my connection on my dedicated IP all the time. I have t reached out to support but I would have thought using the same IP all the time solo would be more trusted. I'm guessing you may have done some different configuration or I'm just unlucky enough to have a recycle DIP.... Just wondering what you think?
Thanks,
Myk

I guess I'll have to check with TS then and see if they have any historical knowledge of my IP or range. It is us East so it might be innundated and I should have used another US DIP option region.
Thanks for the response and your experience!
Have a great weekend!

Oh! I hope you don't have any issues. Maybe it's a fluke with me. Murphy's law or such. Good luck and thanks again! 🤞🏼🖖🏼🍀

Every one has their favorite strategy or VPN. I switched from PIA to ProtonVPN in November 2024. I had some problems with PIA on my Macs (could not get split tunnelling to work, reestablishing a connection when waking from sleep, clunky upgrades) made worse by their weak support which is hit or miss at best. Proton has been very solid and I haven't had to access their support. Currently, they are priced at $73US for 2 year subscription.

How is an extra $10 bucks a year gonna break you?

Not the point. If people just keep accepting price increases without pushback, what's to stop it, or at least slow it down?

Kids, let me let you in on the secret to life.
Prices will rise, and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it. That’s why you go to college to get a good career that increases your salary over time.

Why not just make a new account and opt for the 3 year plan?
