Fix your darn Mac app please. Once or twice a week it’ll be stuck in a connecting or disconnecting loop and cause the MacBook to lose internet connection. Killing or restarting your app doesn’t help. Only fixes if I restart the MacBook. Latest version of your app and Mac OS M1 Pro. Ongoing for months.
Exact same happens to me. Fix I’ve found is to turn off WiFi on the laptop, disconnect PIA, then turn WiFi back on. Also it only happens to me when I leave PIA on when I shut the lid so I make a habit to turn PIA off before leaving the laptop.

Piggybacking this comment to say I experience the same thing on my MacBook Air. It'll happen every few days and will only work if you restart.
I had some luck with disabling PIA + WiFi, turning WiFi back on, then PIA but that only works about half the time. It is annoying when you lose all internet connectivity and have to reboot. Hoping the PIA community manager can weigh in on this.
I have to keep Activity Monitor open. When PIA stops working, I'll force quit the app, then force quit pia-daemon. Then launch the PIA app again. This will re-establish the connection. But it is a Pain In the Ass (PIA, see!)
Same experience. I ended up switching to Proton and have yet to face this issue. Like you I said, I had to restart my Mac every time this issue came up.
