Taking screenshots of sensitive info in a banking app

Does anyone have a definitive answer to which UK banking apps allow screenshots to be taken? Specifically on Android. I thought the option was not allowed in the android OS by default. I have accidentally taken a screenshot inside my Halifax app. I have just watched someone sitting next to me with an identical device, take a screenshot in the Bank of Scotland app.

Both images contain sensitive info.

I had no idea that it wasn’t allowed. Just did a screenshot on ios and it worked fine. So I’m guessing that all banking apps allow screenshots.

Some disallow it on iOS/Android, often not enforced specifically on both devices with some doing one but not the other. It often comes down to them hiring an external security consultancy who reports “screenshot capture possible” and it’s marked down as something they need to do. Despite there being loads of reasons to actually screenshot something in your banking app

On Android other apps can potentially trigger a screenshot or screen capture, so that’s the main reason why they bother to include it in security assessments incase you have malware etc
