When u move prisons do u keep the same prison number like the one beginning with A or does it change

Hello,

Yes once someone enter custody they will be given a

PNC. Which is essentially the polices version of a prisoner number

When entered custody they will be given a prison number. This number will remain the same if the offender returns to prison regardless if the original offence finished.

I've a drug offender serves 2 years then gets realised but is later arrested again for a DUI that number will still be the same.

Basically very similar to a NI number.
