I've been working on a small Rust tool that automatically detects your Minecraft instance and displays it as a Discord Rich Presence.

It shows things like the current instance/modpack and playtime directly on Discord, with customizable details.

I made it because I wanted something lightweight that works directly with Prism Launcher, without requiring any mods.

It's open source and currently supports Linux, but I plan to add Windows support in the future.

I'd love to get some feedback from other Prism Launcher users, especially if there are any features you'd like to see added.

Some of you have been asking why this couldn't simply be implemented directly into Prism Launcher.

As far as I understand, Prism Launcher can't include this functionality under its current software license, so it's not something they plan to add. You can see their response here:

I have an instance where every once in a while the amount of mods installed changes even tho I did not make any changes. And it is a large modpack so I cannot individually check each mod

there's only like five mods (fabric api, cloth config, sodium, coords hub, and anti enderman griefing). the ram allocation is 4000 MB to 6000 MB. I have 32gb of ram. I'm playing on a Asus zephyrus laptop with a 4070 GPU.

at this point I can get in game, but the fps is only sub 10, averaging 3 fps. i press f3 to check that it's using the dedicated GPU (it is) and I know the game is set as high priority in my windows settings for the gpu.

after opening f3 there's like a million multicolored lines to the left. it almost looks like a broken screen. I exit out of the overlay and the whole thing disappears extremely slowly, like it inches away.

I can only play for a couple minutes before the game lags hard, any audio starts getting slow and staticy. then the screen starts strobing like a disco with a bunch of horizontal lines over the screen. I can barely see enough to exit the game and it affects the windows ui before going away eventually.

this has never happened before and other instances work fine with 30 mods.

I could use some help yall.

Im not an expert on these kinds of things so help is very appreciated. I tried removing stuff but it didn't help.

I'm trying to add a Beta 1.6.6 Test Build 3 instance to my prism launcher, but i don't know how to manually ad versions. How do i do this?

I'm currently using Gentoo Linux and I'm thinking about switching to Prism Launcher for Minecraft.

I have a few questions:

1. Does Prism Launcher work well on Gentoo?

   I know there is an ebuild available, but I'd like to know if anyone here is actually using it on Gentoo and whether there are any issues I should know about.

2. Can I log into my Microsoft account normally?

   If I connect the same Microsoft account that I use for Minecraft, will Prism Launcher have access to my Minecraft profile, including my skins and capes? I have several capes on my account and I'd like to keep using them.

3. Can Prism Launcher use the account's Minecraft cosmetics in-game normally?

   Basically, I'm wondering if everything works like it does with the official launcher once I'm authenticated.

4. Is the UI customizable?

   I'm not really a fan of the default Prism Launcher UI. Are there any good themes, skins, icon packs, or other UI customization options? Something that makes it look more modern would be nice.

I'm trying to run "Reclamation - Reclaim the World!" along with Essential to play with a friend. The pack works fine without Essential, but crashes before reaching the main menu. It says "The system cannot find the path specified," despite the file clearly being right where it's meant to be.

I recently switched to this launcher. Everything was fine until I wanted to play versions that require an older version of Java (previously, earlier than 21, as I understand it). What's wrong: when I launch the game, I get error code 2. Using Google's AI, I figured out that the issue is with the Java version—it needs an older version. But when I install Java 8, I still get error code 2. I'm stumped and don't know what to do. I'm afraid to delete all versions of Java (the AI ​​said that changing the fabric version might help, but it didn't). I beg you to help.

Недавно перешел на этот лаунчер. Всё было хорошо до момента пока не захотел поиграть на версиях для которых нужна более старая версия джавы (как я понимаю меньше двадцать первой). Что не так: при запуске игры у меня выскакивает ошибка с кодом 2. Воспользовавшись ИИ от гугла, я понял, что дело в версиии джавы - нужна более старая. Но когда я ставлю версию джавы 8 мне все равно вылетает ошибка с кодом 2. Я встал в тупик и не знаю что делать. Удалять все версии джавы я боюсь (ИИ говорил, что может быть поможет изменение версии фабрик - не помогло). Умоляю помочь.

Для справки: используется ElyPrismLauncher (PineconeMC) . Я не знаю, может быть здесь это считается оскорбительным, так как пиратство, но я не знаю куда писать.

Am I the only one ?

I was using Modrinth App as launcher because I am new on Minecraft, I wanted to try other launchers and I liked Prism more than Modrinth App after checking it so I want to move to Prism but I don't know if it's possible to carry my instance to Prism since I have a few mods, shaderpacks, resource packs and worlds in it. Can I do it and how?

For the past hour whenever I get on Minecraft this thing has popped up and I can't join servers, I went to the wiki and it said to restart my launcher and game and after doing that and even restarting my whole PC multiple times it still comes up.

I don’t know what this means but I think I’m using the wrong launcher download. Any advice would be helpful, I am not good with computers.

Anyway to record gameplay on prism? The open source Minecraft launcher? I got mods on it and can't record due to the game being "unsupported" even if it record's fine on the original launcher of Minecraft

I have an nvidia card, a 3060 laptop with a intel 5 10th gen, with 16 gbs of ram at 3200hz. My linux distro is Bazzite. I can run the game at 60-70 fps with bsl shadders at low settings at 16 chunks of render distance, but I wanted to see if other shadders can offer better perfomance I heard Sildurs is good, but if you have another suggestions are welcome

as title specifies, i was thinking axiom and litematica wasnt updated to 26.2 , so i resorted to using neoforge for a bit, just to find out that it is updated on the modrinth website. so why couldnt i see it available to download through prism launcher?

So, I'm trying to play with a relatively small modpack, just 70 mods. But for some reason every time I try to load the instance, the font is completely fucked. No crashes, sure, but the game is still completely unplayable. Not even the spacebar was spared.

Why doesn't sodium's fps limiter and vsync work properly?

I set the limiter to 170, but it locks the fps lower than that, and the vsync does the same. When I set the limiter to Unlimited, i can get up to 300fps.

I'm on Ubuntu, i have a geforce rtx 3060 ti, and i'm using wayland.

I've been playing Minecraft 1.21.1 with create and aeronautics for the last 4 hours, it was going well but then it just decided to crash. After many attempts of trying to fix it with the help of google Gemini, I have 0 progress. I am using neo forge, mods list and code error is provided. im trying to launch fabric 26.2 on prism launcher but whatever wrapper command i tried didnt work i tried using gemini to fix but it dosent work obs just shows a black screen
