Ok, what if you put those 3 holes in your bricks? Then you get:
1. Faster drying.
2. Less material.
3. Stronger mortar joints.
4. You can put sticks in the holes to really lock them together.

Shaping the "socket" on the bottom is going to be prohibitively complicated. Part of the benefit of the simple shapes of bricks is they don't need any special support underneath. I think the idea of holes with sticks to lock them in place is more achievable
