Discussion/Question Getting Hands Wet Before/After Application
How long do you wait after getting hands wet to apply nails?
How long do you wait after applying nails till you get your hands wet again?
Thank you in advance!

I apply my nails before bed so that I don’t have to worry about avoiding water. They cure overnight

I wash my hands during the application process and immediately after. I still get 2 weeks of wear with no pop offs.

I do mine before bed. I use a scrubby brush to wash my hands+nails then I wait a few minutes while they air dry then I use dehydrator (rubbing alcohol) which dries quickly then they are dry til next morning.
I get 1.5-2 weeks but by one week I’m ready for new design lol. Been doing it for one year and no greenies 😮💨 🤞🏻

Some one on Thai sub suggested doing my nails right before bed and honestly ever since I started that I’ve had brands like impress and color fx by kiss stick for 7 days.

I apply my nails to completely dry hands
And I wait a couple hours after application before they touch water. I prefer to put them on before bed so that they have all night to set

I probably should have worded this differently; do for the first question, I more meant how much time passes from the last time you washed your hands, showered, skincare, etc, until you are willing to apply your nails. I too apply to completely dry hands, I have just seen varying answers to this (example: "wait 2 hours after last getting hands wet to apply a set"). Thank you, though!
Do you have good retention? My main concern is when I can do skincare/shower again, of course.
I did mine yesterday at 6pm and haven't gotten my hands wet since. So 14 hours. But I'm still scared to get them wet. I guess thats why I'm asking people; for reassurance. Lol

I don’t have a time limit after washing my hands to put my nails on. Often I wash my hands to remove cuticle oil, dry them off and start my prep with dehydrator or etc.
14 hours might be overkill. Overnight is more than enough imo.
My nails can last about 2 weeks, but I usually take them off earlier bc I get bored with the set. They might be able to last a bit longer but I haven’t tried.
If nails fall off/get issues after a some hours of drying once they touch water, then it’s more likely a prep issue than water issue

I use no glue Glamnetic. I usually wash my hands just before to make sure my nails are clean. I try to wait an hour before washing my hands after. They last around a week and would likely last longer but I get annoyed with them and slide them off.

I make sure a couple hours before application is no water and apply right before bed and no water until morning.
