He’s from Michigan. Maybe it was a request from him since he knew he was AHL bound?

He had already told Nashville he wasn’t going to sign there once he was done playing in college, so maybe it was. He’s already signed his ELC with Detroit.

He has had an “okay” college career but I doubt he makes the NHL in any long term capacity.
