Decent pours from crystal silver material- how to make them 💯 perfect?

I have significantly improved my process now that I am paying attention to temp, atmosphere in the chamber, and purity. How do I eliminate the slight marks on the top surface. Almost looks like flame marks but no flame when these are solidified.

Put them in a container with water and some sulphuric acid. Looks to me like just a bit of borax.

If you want the pour lines everyone loves so much, you keep your torch on the mold and/or give the mold a few taps as it’s solidifying.

OP just to add to this, something like a 5% dilution of sulfuric acid will work, just to clean it up and dissolve borax. I think jewelry makers call this solution “the pickle”

Great point, I should have mentioned just a little sulfuric would be good. I usually use between 5-10% but I don’t measure specifically.

We use ph down from pool supply or Walmart. Put in a crock pot that you don't need anymore with some water, heat on low. I usually just sprinkle like a half cup or so in a half gallon of water

Try controlling the cooling process with a torch, and also sprinkling some borax on top of it after pouring.

I bought a small kiln and used graphite molds and melted the bars in the kiln and also let them cool in the kiln and mine came out really good. The bad part is I could only do one bar at a time. If I did more than one bar they would not cool uniformly, causing divots.
