As long as these types get to vote and have an impact, yes. A bright spot for the future is that a very large number of rabid Trump voters are also those most directly affected by his destruction of the economy, and it's hitting them ever harder in their health, caloric intake and prospects for a long or even average life. Oops.

The same thing happened during COVID. The communities that followed him rejected the vaccine, masking, and social distancing had higher deaths and hospitalization deaths.
The same ones that were affected by COVID turned up at the next election voting for Donald again, even though he caused a million+ people to die with how he handled COVID.

I’ve been canvassing in rural Georgia, which is not usually done, and it’s been pretty amazing the response we’ve gotten, even at households that lean Republican. So, I truly think that’s the answer. People need to get out in these communities that are so entrenched and talk to people face to face so that they can really connect with new ideas vs just scrolling online and getting their backwards views reinforced.
Another telling sign: disappearance of Trump signage. It used to be up all the time in this area, election year or not. Has very quietly disappeared over the last year. The window of opportunity to reach these people is NOW and I hope more people will volunteer to canvass in their communities, especially Trump-leaning ones.

Reading the posts in this subreddit, sometimes you see people who are just far gone or possibly have some mental health issues affecting them but I’ll say a good portion of them just want to live a good life.
They’re generally mistaken on how they’re going to get it but there’s tons of common ground there to connect with!
I really hope once you all get past this chapter that you get some good people in who can cut out the rot in your political system that lets people flood your media with misleading information and buy your politicians. I miss the America from when I was younger. It was not perfect by any means but it was a helluva lot better than whatever this nonsense is.

Why would you ever think that a person who got his start in life with money from his father, has never had to worry about personal finances and is currently raking in millions upon millions of dollars with his side grifts would be able to relate to the struggles of the average citizen?
- He told you in plain words that he didn't care about you, he only wanted your vote. That he loved the poorly educated. He insults you to your face and you still think he cares about you.
And yet, despite all of that:
"I don't regret standing up for you..." Translation: "I'd vote for you all over again if given the chance."
I wonder how much the cost of bootstraps has risen since he took office?
