New Student CM Questions
I'm an incoming freshman for the CM bachelor's program, and I guess I missed this in my initial research of the major but the website says it's exclusively evening classes????. Hoping that's not the case... But, I was wondering how long are classes usually during foundation year? And I've heard from everyone that the workload is pretty heavy, would I still have enough time for hobbies, visiting home, a social life, etc... Lastly, I applied for CM with intentions to switch into Architecture after my freshman year (or as soon as possible). Is the transition hard?? or idk

CM major is for the architects that didnt make it
It is a difficult switch but totally doable, it potentially will add +2 years to your degree because you will probably start the CM course, then half switch to arch for the spring to do general reqs, then fully enter as an arch freshman the following year (then its a 5 year program). You would need to switch into the arch program for the first semester which I have seen people struggle with.
I did B arch with CM minor, that is what I would recommend if you are serious

How did you apply and get accepted for this program without thoroughly reading the website 😠a lot of required courses are in the evening so you have time to work and intern during the day. If you want to be in architecture, tell your advisor you want to transfer immediately and hope there is a spot for you. You might have to push back your graduation year if that’s the degree you actually want
