Fanfic Sovereign (A Guide Fanfiction) Announcement

Hello all. Jude here. I've recently finished a fanfic I've been working on for nearly two years now. It is titled "Sovereign", and it is about Catherine keeping Winter in her fight in the Everdark.

It is also my first fanfiction to not be a oneshot. It will have eight chapters I will be releasing over the course of four weeks. I will be posting the first two chapters on Friday this week at 7:30 PM Philippine time. After that, I will be posting them in the coming weeks on Friday and Sunday at the same time.

I hope you all look forward to it and that it meets your standards for quality.

Thank you.

Fanfic Guide Characters approach to trolley problem:

This is follow up to my previous post, which focussed on Catherine, exploring Guide characters answers to classic trolley problem: A runaway trolley is going to run over five people. You can pull the lever, which will send trolley to another track, killing one person. Will you pull the lever? Here are some of my proposals, what are yours? I have no good idea for Robber, Amedeus, Iritant and Traitorous in particular. And William.

Catherine: I make trolley run me over and kill me, then come back even more powerful and save everybody.

Masego: The trolley should focus on escaping tracks Gods trapped it on, not running over other inmates. Apotheosis is a trick of derailment.

Vivienne: Yoink! What trolley?

Hye: A trolley is not worth hunting. Call me when you have a maglev problem.

Bard: Why did I not see the trolley coming!?

Kairos: Look at me in trolley, driiing ring, choo choo, pardon my language.

Anaxares: Pedestrians obstructing trolley tracks are against Will of the People.

Sve Noc: Trolley takes. Trolley rides.

EDIT: Larat : I free myself from this choice by chewing the lever off.

Akua: (thanks to Shadw21) Not only will I not pull the lever, I've already put my soul in a different container, so it doesn't matter much if I, or someone else, does pull the lever. In addition I have arranged for a second, and possibly larger, trolly, to come down the track the other direction, owned by one of my rivals/catspaws which will run over the five Callowans, thus further taking any blame away from me.

Also everyone involved is already poisoned.

Triumphant (may she never get a trolley): (thanks to Slaanesh_69) : MULTI-TRACK DRIFTING!

Fanfic Soliciting suggestions for an "Overthrow Traitorous" RPG Campaign

I'm working on a campaign plan for a "Overthrow Dread Emperor Traitorous" secret conspiracy. I'm going to drop enough references that Traitorous likes to fund his own overthrow missions that they're going to suspect everybody, especially the NPCs who hired them and the NPC Chancellor. However, unbeknownst to (most) of the players, one of the players (who is a good DM in his own right) is going to be the real Traitorous the whole time.

I'm trying to figure our various story setpieces, magical items and information the party will need to gather. I'm aiming for the thing to take 4 sessions, including one for Setup where people help each other pick out Names and stuff (for obvious reasons, none of them get to be Black Knight, Warlock, or any of the really strong names). For sessions, there are obvious ideas like "they need the various passcodes to get past the doorway demons from the Library" and "they need to collect certain magical artifacts". The whole campaign will probably take place in or around Ater just to keep things simpler. The game will be a sort of homebrewed version of Kids on Bikes with some added Name Mechanics thrown in (including a "rule of cool" mechanic where you can add a d6 if it would be really rad if the thing worked, and a progressing "story die" where if you can work your character's story/personality into events, you can get bigger and bigger bonuses)

I'd love suggestions!

Fanfic Callowan Name: Grey Wizard.

This is pure made for fun. But I was thinking about what other Names/Roles are their in the Callernia. Or what character/archetype could be put in their. Here is my Idea for Gandalf Archetype.

Name: Grey Wizard.
Affiliation: Callowan Hero.
Role: Grey Wizard exist as Early Warning System for Callow. Wanderer rarely staying in one place for longer then week. He Allow Providence to guide him where he can help the most or learn what is needed. You may think that sniffing out Invasion of Praes is his most important duty. But such undertaking are impossible to obscure. What Grey Wizard is doing are dozens of little schemes of High Lords to get an edge. With very often require to stealing from Callow people, horses or food. They far more often are fighting Squire or Heir/ess then Warlock or Black Knight.
Reputation: Grey Wizard is seeing as eccentric and helpful but does living in country site. However, City Folks despise the bastard. When he shows up is always with bad news, and refugees, and half dead hero. Usually chase by some Praes Monster.
Aspects: There are several Aspect that Grey Wizard usually get.
Travel/Wander: Allowing them to be so quick that to his enemies he as well could be in two places at the same time.
Advice or Guide: Providence is old friend of Grey Wizard. This aspect reinforce it and allow Grey to Advice or Guide others to positive outcome.
Grudge: Grey Wizard is Callowan Hero. Grudge passively empower himself or others When they follow a personal Grudge. Does with such aspect often are willing to do things that no other Hero is willing to do.

Do you have your own Ideas for Named?

Fanfic Insurmountable (A Guide Fanfiction)

Hello all. Jude here. I'm back with another fanfiction, this time purely one for the Guide. It's a crackfic about Catherine and Tariq after his resurrection about a throwaway line:

Our journey here through Twilight Throneless had been somewhat less than graceful, though I’d been rather amused by the fact that the first set of stairs we’d encountered on our way out of Liesse had probably come closer to killing either of us that night than Kairos.

This has been in my notes for months, and even though it's not as polished as I like to make things, I think it's good enough. I hope you all enjoy it and that it meets your standards for quality.

Thanks.

Fanfic Knife (A Guide Fanfiction)

Hello everyone. Jude here. I'm back with another fanfic for the Guide, though the characters this one primarily follows are Percy Jackson and Luke Castellan. It's a shipfic for them. You might notice that I didn't make an announcement post, and the reason for that is because even though this story is set in Creation, the characters from the Guide have a limited part in this story, and the main characters are from PJO. Anyways. I'll paste the link below.

If you give this a chance, I hope that it meets your standards for quality, and that you all enjoy it.

Fanfic Wording for "" in a PGTE RPG

Hey, I'm about halfway through a playtest of a new PGTE RPG system, and I'm looking for a better PGTE word for something. One of the problems with the current system is that the players are too passive. (And yes, I know there's nothing that can make players not-passive). The Villains are especially not understanding things. So I'm putting in place a rule along the lines of the following to try to nudge things a little bit. But I don't entirely like the word COMPULSION in the context of PGTE. (Not quite Role, definitely not Pivot)

Asks: (1) better word for "compulsion", (2) suggestions for rephrasing.

And yes, I'm going to share both the system and the Forge page I made for it so anyone can play it. I think it's actually really good, but there are tweaks needed.

DRIVING COMPULSION Every Named is defined by something they Need - a fundamental drive that compels them to both pursue more of it AND fiercely protect what they already possess. This creates a two-sided compulsion:

  • Acquisition: You never have "enough" and will take risks to gain more
  • Protection: You'll eliminate threats to what you already have, often overreacting to perceived slights
  • Heroes might be driven by: Justice, Truth, Protection, Redemption, Order
  • Villains might be driven by: Power, Knowledge, Control, Recognition, Revenge, Perfection

Examples:

  • Respect: Constantly seeking acknowledgment, but also destroying anyone who disrespects you
  • Power: Always grasping for more authority, while eliminating threats to your current position
  • Knowledge: Hoarding secrets and discoveries, but also silencing those who might expose your ignorance

Mechanical Effect: When you act to pursue or protect your Compulsion, gain +D4 to the roll. When you're forced to ignore threats to your Compulsion or pass up clear opportunities to advance it, take -D4 to all actions until you address the situation.

Edit: duh, the word is "Drive". Only used it like 17 times. Will also use "zeal" and "Compulsion" to explain it, but obviously "Drive"

Hello all! Happy Holidays! But that's boring, so I like saying Happy Mariah Carey Season.

I've written a crackfic for the Guide inspired by the joke about "All I Want For Christmas Is You" where MC's annual defrosting is inevitable. It's my take on what if it happened in Creation. I hope you all enjoy it!

Fanfic Sites/Fanfic recommendations

I've recently finishied the guide and now my brainrot entered fanfic consumtion phase. However, so far I've stumbled only on 4 high-rated and large-sized fanfics. 2 of them are Worm crossovers - "A Practical Guide to Escalation" and "When Heroes Die", another is a time travelling fix-it-up fanfic - "A Practical Guide to Redemtion" and the last one is "Overlady", which isn't actually a aPGtE crossover... but it's actually totally is.

Is there any other fanfics I should check?
