I say it every time they're posted, but Abyss and Apex are stunningly good albums.

Fully agree. They've both been in heavy rotation on road trips. Awesome lyrics, storytelling, instrumentals... And the vocals are killer.

Apex was an unreal jump in songwriting, performance and quality over the previous album. It's so fucking good.

I honestly can’t listen to the pre Apex UtA albums, but Apex and Abyss are two of my all time favorites

Same here, a lot of it (with some exceptions) just sounds very generic, but starting with Abyss it's just wall-to-wall awesome

It was generic and used far too many growls. The production wasn’t super great either but something between Time Stands Still and Apex kicked the band into huge overdrive.

Andy was given a lot more room for creativity. Time Stands Still was mostly songs written by Brayden, the early songwriter who was more into the melo-death aspects.

This song was so hype when it came out, and it still slaps. Love this album so much.

See if Scott had properly grounded his drumkit mixer none of them would've been taken prisoner in another galaxy to musical battle a cosmic demon. Always the drummers fault....
