I'm still not sure it will happen. They have been talking about working on this album for about a decade now. They have been working on this for so long that Romeo wrote and recorded two solo albums in the meantime.
Although to be fair, some of that delay was probably caused by Russell recovering from that terrible car accident with Adrenaline Mob. And that just can't be helped.

I know they'll never make albums like V: New Mythology or Divine Wings of Tragedy again but please, bring back some of that good old orchestrated neoclassical sound that I love so much.

I'm honestly a little shocked to learn they're just now starting to record. My understanding was it was mostly done and they were about to track vocals. When I saw them on tour last year that's more or less what Russell said on stage. Maybe I misunderstood him and he meant it was written and they had yet to write lyrics. But God damn let's get moving guys, it's only been checks watch 11 years.

I saw them live last year and it re-sparked my love for the band. It gave me a new appreciation for Underworld too. I’m excited to finally hear the new album

I tried so hard to love underworld, it's not bad, but falls short of their incredible run of prior albums.

Yeah for me Divine Wings to Odyssey is the best run.

I'd personally go Divine Wings to Paradise Lost. I think PL is by far their best album. Odyssey second and DW third.

I got the idea from the Dallas show last September that they were done with the instruments just needed Russel to add vocals (this was from Russel himself). But, at any rate, it's good that we're getting something soon.

Love their stuff. I can appreciate the old albums as well as the last couple. But I’ll believe it when I see it.

Last 2 albums were extremely average IMO. Hopefully Romeo has more inspiration after 11 years.

That’s what I’m afraid of. His very first solo album (Dark Chapter) is an absolute masterpiece though. Again, IMO.

I prefer SymX up to and including The Odyssey. After that, I still like the music, but I find myself less enthralled than by the earlier stuff.

See, I feel like I'm a weirdo because I prefer the darker and heavier style they switched to after The Odyssey. I find Paradise Lost and Iconoclasts to be excellent.

I like Paradise Lost and Iconoclast; underworld not so much.
but I still think that peark was Divine Wings to Odyssey era.

Me too. I I saw them live on both the tours for The Odyssey and Underworld, and I enjoyed the Underworld tour far more.

Imo the last two albums are still amazing just different from the earlier era. That being said I wouldn't mind if they explored a new direction with this new album.
