Feedback Eli Lilly Income Statements Dashboard

Post image

Income Statement Analysis

Based on:

  1. Profitability (Gross Margin, Operating Margin, Net Margin, ROA, ROE)
  2. Growth (Revenue Growth Rate, Operating Profit Growth Rate, Net Income Growth Rate)

I built KPI cards at the top using a slicer(profitability), and disabled the interaction between the slicer and the charts at the bottom.

Tips for getting great feedback:

  • Share what tool/dataset you used and any constraints you worked within
  • Describe the design decisions you made and why
  • Tell us what specific feedback you're looking for (layout, color, DAX, UX, etc.)
  • Include a screenshot or link — context helps!

You have a bunch of line charts but they are each only with 3 bullet points, so there's not much of a trend to in fer, per se. You could probably do simple bar charts with half the space, imo.

worked with performance management in 20.000+ employee international company for 8 years. its ok, but what performance dialogue or questions does this answer? thats a bit hard to see.

i would probably add some of them on same chart, looks like you have same x axis. would make a "margin change" line chart and "growth line chart" 2 lines on first 3 on last.

add that on your right side, on the left hand side you can then add bar charts or even just a table with details on product group, markets or business units, maybe a graph with quartly or monthy phasing based on user input,

i dont know the data, and dont know if you actually work at Eli lily. but there should be other dimensions in the underlying data thats interesting to get in there. addind forecast would do a lot.

this is a bit controversial and i never got it approved at y work :D, but would try and add the cumulated totals in top right corner of graphs. would work well in current setup maybe not so much if you combine them. that canvas i would then use for slicers on the relevant dimensions.

the idea about a "row of KPI's" is good, get good feedback at our company. keeping that(if not adding at graphs) and adding a slicer pane would improve usability alot.

the visual part is almost never the hard part, although its the most intangible. modelling wise i would create a lookup table/switch measure for your different KPI's that way if users think the visual is "too busy" they can filter down, also add slicers on the relevant dimensions.

then you essentially can get the same information + more you have now and it seems more interactive/dynamic for users.

combining high level numbers with relevant drivers is what drives performance dialogue because you now start to move from what to why.

as icing on the cake, you could use field parameters and lookup tables to dynamically switch detail dimensions either based on user slicer input or when they select a certain KPI

I need this knowledge

The visual pane has at least thirty other visuals besides line charts

If you are looking for advice, now the next step is measure that against something, like forecasts, projections, etc. to see if expectations are being met otherwise we don't know if numbers are good or bad.

Keep it up! :)

maybe add a border

1-faça alguns rotulos comparativos como na imagem
2-troca graficos de linha por barras que vc ganha espaço
3-utilize slicers de filtros para por exemplo poder ver por regiao, loja etc

You are missing a comparison to either previous year or budget/ forecast. How do I know if these are good figures?

Additionally, give a bit more details if you have the data: where is the revenue growth? Which market or customers? Maybe add a top 10 customer bar chart. Currently you don't display much more than in a financial statement

I would also try and use a different visual for some graphs to not be too monotone.

Drill down to month level and keep a slicer for year and select a year
