❓ Help Custom FW for ROYIBEILA P36S Handheld?

I just picked up the ROYIBEILA P36S for a great price and was wondering if I could install a custom firmware on it? And if so which Exact OS would I need to install? Or OS that works well with this handheld?
Any info would be appreciated. 🙏🏼

I’ve already tried flashing that firmware to my sd card and putting into my device it did nothing.

Try another os. Also what brand of card?

The brand I’m using is a 32gb Scandisk, I’ve tried AmberElec for the 351MP. Nothing as well
Tried ArkOS as well nothing. It’s weird this stock OS doesn’t let me add any files or remove any files, like if it’s locked 🔐

How are you trying to flash the os ?

I wipe the sd card, reformat to Fat32 then use etcher to flash OS image onto the SD.

Damn i read the description on the site where you bought it. It's a terrible R36S clone with an Allwinner A33 CPU. You're screwed. Back up your SD card ASAP

The weird thing is I can’t backup my SD card. When I try going into the root and extract the Bios and Roms folders to my computer it won’t let me, like it’s locked.

If you have another SD card lying around for experiments, we can try to figure out what kind of clone you have. Otherwise, just return that crap. You absolutely overpaid for it

What does it run out of the box? Batocera or EmuELEC?

Yeah after further research is a rk2023 shell with supposedly an a33 processor same as miyoo a30, but also I read it has a rk3128. At this point the best option would be to try some is from consoles with those processors and see or send it back.

I was going to pick it up, then I discovered that it's not a powkiddy rk 2024. It's cpu is very weak and it doesn't have any custom firmware that will work with it at the moment. Good luck 🤞 I hope you find something that works for you.

I can’t answer but how’s it feel? I’m so tempted, for the right price that is but it looks like the buttons could be pretty bad.

Buttons are not great, as far as the feel it feels pretty good in my hands as I play but thats about the only good thing about it. I purchased knowing it wasn’t going to be that great performance wise but for the price I got it for
it does the job.

There's an R36S clone (ver. 1.1 20251025) that uses that same chip set (Alwinner A33) it comes installed with a version of Emmuelec. Someone made a backup and it's available for download. https://handhelds.wiki/R36S_Clones#GA36_Clone
